Is anyone else noticed the approval process taking forever. When I went through the approval for Apple AI it happened within 20 minutes or a half hour this has been going on since iOS 18.2 beta came out. I’m still waiting for approval.

There’s quite a bit of people waiting to be approved. The message did say you’d be put on a waiting list, and it didn’t give a timeframe - at least not that I recall. Hopefully, you won’t have to wait much longer.

There is definitely something up with the approvals into Image Playgrounds etc...

I updated 2 M series MacBook Pros, an m4 iPad Pro and a 16 Pro Max. One of the Macs has been accepted into the Image Creation beta. I can open Image Playgrounds and make images. Those images sync to the other devices, but on all the rest it still says "Access Requested" You cant edit or create them on those devices. All 4 devices are signed into the same developer Apple Account.

I think they are picking those who get it manually. It is so incredibly limited TBH and I'm glad I didn't upgrade to 18.2 yet. Feels like a lot of mess this year and a rush to implement these features haphazardly. Hoping it is fluid and well tested however.

Yes. I can only assume something broke with the approval process, which is one of the reasons you have a beta. All is going as planned. If they fix it before beta 2, great. If not, there's always another beta.

Maybe they are done approving people, this is a Developer Beta and not Public Beta After All.

My Developer account literally just expired, not sure I want to renew at his point, def not renewing for this. I do not use apple specific developer tools enough.

I updated maybe an hour or 2 after the beta went live. Been waiting to get in ever since. So well over the 35+ hours. At this point I’m not holding my breath, just gonna wait until Beta 2 and see if they fix it by then.

I just find it fascinating that the of all the Apple Intelligence features, anyone cares about these. I am not saying that to be flippant. I honestly don't know what value Genmoji or Image Playground bring to the table beyond 15 minutes of playing with a new toy that will just be set aside and not picked back up again.

I don't see the fascination in generative AI beyond the cool factor. But that shine wears off quickly. If you aren't in the art/graphic business then I'm not seeing the appeal.

I honestly wish I understood the fascination. I get the email/note summaries. The AI replies and communication shortcut stuff. I don't need it. But it's practical enough that I understand it. The image/emoji stuff seems superfluous. I made a few memojis like years ago and they are just pinned in there for avatars and stuff that I will occasionally use. But they weren't like "the" features that I was waiting for an OS update for.

Can anyone explain the fascination or the draw factor? Thank you.
