iOS 18.2 Image Playground, Genmoji approval taking forever

I just think most of the hype surrounding AI is just that. Don't get me wrong, I've logged into the generative AI prompts and played, mock the flawed technology while laughing at the bizarre and nightmare inducing images that it created. But in the real world I think AI is much more useful in the practical applications of pattern recognition and assisting with the process of helping to make sense of large data sets quickly.

I think in the process of analyzing genome sequence data, scanning through static patterns for SETI, and all kinds of scientific applications. It is also great for things like remembering where you parked your car or to provide just-in-time location/time aware notifications and feedback for things like iOS, etc.

But I don't think the image creation and other things are more than a gimmick for most users. It is far better at making sure the image quality of pictures that I take with my camera are than making images from what it has ingested from content creators.
 
I got my access on both macOS and iOS yesterday. Now the challenge is to come up with creative image descriptions to test out the power of Apple Intelligence.
 
Has anyone been able to get Image Playground to include two people in the images? Whenever I try it IP just picks one face and generates an image from that.
 
well i finally got access yesterday so thats around 11 days which is quicker than some

i did only request access for the new ipad mini gen 7 as i use my other devices for work.

If i request access to the iphone or mac will i get access straight away or will it be another wait list ?


on image playground i love it will i use it every day no but i will use it reguarly.
 
Just got approved, it took about a week and a few hours for me to be approved. I also installed beta 3 so I am not sure if there is a correlation between the two.

I just got in yesterday. Not impressed. Doubt I’ll be using it much, if at all.
 
Got it a week after requesting… image playground ain’t great but I like the genmoji. Prefer them in WhatsApp where they’re sending as stickers as in iMessage there too small to see what they’re meant to be
 
I only jumped on the 18.2 beta today (beta 4) and got access to Image Playground immediately.

upgraded to the new beta but now image playground is playing up it said i couldn't use on my current settings

so changed them then it wouldn't create any new pictures saying it can't be done.

switched off AI then on it said it was downloading Ai but playground is still not activated still downloading when its not.

Still very glitchy i can't see it being released early december.
 
compared to Gemini its so unreliable its still beta but i can't see there not being problems when its released to the masses.

I think apple will delay some aspects of 18.20 i wouldn't be surprised to see the UK launch being delayed or it being released with limited AI. It was rumoured by some to be released on the 2nd i doubt it will be.
 
I’m thinking the waitlist is over since we’re so close to public release. Especially since beta 4 is an a build.
