iOS 18.3 Beta Release Notes

New Issues
Remaining Issues
Resolved Issues

Additional Notes

To get the beta over-the-air:
  1. Enable Beta Updates (Settings > General > Software Updates > Beta Updates)
  2. Make sure you’re signed into the right Apple Account
  3. Select which beta you’d like to receive (public/developer beta)
  4. Hit "Back" and pull down to refresh
  5. Back up to a computer or to iCloud
  6. Install the beta
If you no longer wish to receive beta updates:
  1. Turn off the Beta Updates (you can also sign out of your Apple Account to reset this setting)
  2. Wait for the next public release or follow the guide below to go back to a release build
Troubleshooting: If the beta doesn’t show up on your phone, try turning on airplane mode, then turning it back off, or restart your device.

How to install using a Mac?
  1. You’ll need the Xcode beta itself or a MobileDevice.pkg somebody extracted from the beta (click with two fingers or control-click), then choose Show Package Contents. Go to Contents/Resources/Packages. - this will work on older Macs that do not support the latest macOS or Xcode betas)
  2. Back up to your Mac or to iCloud in case you need to go back to another version
  3. Hold down Option, then click on ‘Check for Update’/‘Restore iPhone...’ and select the IPSW file you downloaded from the Apple Developer site. Note: You must be connected to the internet to complete the restore.
  4. Enter your iPhone passcode if you’re prompted to do so.
Notes/Tips:
  • Always keep a backup in case you need to restore your phone
  • Restoring wipes your settings and all data on your iPhone
  • You only need to reinstall MobileDevice.pkg if your Mac stops recognizing your iPhone
  • There is no MobileDevice.pkg equivalent to iTunes for PC which would require a new iTunes to support new/beta iOS
  • Upgrading to a newer iPhone? You can update using your Mac before setting up the phone

For me, after the update, disabling stickers results in their absence

It's still buggy for me, I just updated, and when I deactivate that option, the stickers continue to appear on my keyboard, curiously only with native Apple apps, I have an iPhone 13

Apple, please, when are you going to fix this visual bug? I've been reporting it for months but it seems that it's not important for them to keep their software free of bugs

i am getting the „Need 11GB of free space to install 18.3.2 bug(?)“

I am sure this point-update has just a few hundred MB.

How to fix?

Mail (the default app) notifications aren't working for me since this update. I have to open Mail to check for new messages. All settings are as they ought to be.

Incidentally, this is the same with 18.3.2 on both my iPhone and iPad. Very odd. Anyone else? And any troubleshooting tips? 🙏

Try deleting and reinstalling the app. I had this situation with VK, Telegram and other apps on iOS 16. Reinstallation helped and notifications started working.

Installing on my daily driver and 70 testdevices (Mix of SE2, SE3, 13, 14 and 16).
Took quite some time to prepare considering its a "small" patch.

iOS 18.3.2 has finally fixed the syncing of screenshots with Apple Watch. Previously when taking a screenshot on the watch they weren't appearing on the iPhone in Photos, but now they are instantly there again.

I also have this problem but have no idea how to solve it. Tried everything  I didn't have this problem on 18.3.1.

I haven't had that issue, but I may be headed for a freshened-up install as since 18.3.1, my battery drain is significantly worse than before. I was hoping that 18.3.2 might make it better, but not here.

Everything is good so far and the extreme battery drain issue I had has been solved with this update. What is really strange is the iCloud backup is half what it was before - 55.9 GB whereas before updating it was nearly double at over 100 GB. Very odd and I changed nothing in the setting or what I backup.

This was just a little "nudging" you to remember to upgrade your icloud tier for better user experience... ;)

I’m noticing that after updating to iPadOS18.3.2 that my two M2 iPad Airs disconnect from wifi often and then reconnect quickly. This has never happened before. Anyone else experiencing this?

Silly but well maybe...I was thinking of doing that as I have 200 GB of storage which has always been plenty. Anyway I am just glad the battery drain is gone.
