Yay! A new beta! It will be interesting to see what’s new! Judging from the release notes there seems to be more improvements than with the first beta, writing tools has received some improvements. And usually there are some changes that aren’t mentioned in the release notes, so it will be interesting to see what’s new. I’ve been looking through a few things looking for some changes. 👍🏻

Probably a snooze fest but I hope I’m wrong.

Not many user facing changes makes sense for 18.3 if it's being prepared for the new SE and iPad 11th gen.

how I felt yesterday when they dropped beta 2 during the firecane. Hope all my brothers and sisters are safe out there.

I find it odd that both iPadOS 18.2 AND iPadOS 18.2.1 are still available to download on the Dev Portal for all compatible devices. Generally once a release is out, the prior one is removed from the Dev Portal. I wonder why they're still both listed?

Considering the rumors about 18.2.1 a while before it was actually released, having an older version still out there rules out any major security issues, IMO. Seems odd..

I don’t usually check that but is it possible it’s because the public beta is not yet out (yes, I know: different program)?

Agree re major security issues.

I don’t mind a stable release but I am just impatient because I have to wait for the official release now. Installing a beta of an update that is supposed to bring stability seems pretty counterintuitive for my usage lol.

Not clear what you are referring to? Can you be more specific?

Just saying that “beta” and “stable” are kinda oxymorons, and I will wait for it to actually be stable in the final release before I update to 18.3, since there are no new features that are exciting enough that they would be worth any potential issues.

So much for 18.4.

The “conversational” Siri was never announced by Apple or rumored for 18.4. It was always the context awareness and deeper app interaction. In my mind, those are far more important features than whether I can hold a running conversation with Siri.

I have the conversation mode on ChatGPT and never ever use it.

18.4 will still be a big release. The only question is whether it will perform as intended.
