No compelling reason for 18.5 now. Only bug fixes. 😁
Oh come on, there are plenty of good reasons for iOS 18.5. There is still potential for new features, and definitely bug fixes.

And here’s what I don’t get. I see people whine and moan that we need a “snow leopard” update that introduces no new features and focuses only on bug fixes for an entire year, yet then those same people say “there’s nothing left compelling in iOS 18”. This makes no sense… 🤦🏼‍♂️

Personally, I’m sure we’ll probably see some minor new features in 18.5, perhaps some new Siri Shortcuts actions, and new Control Center controls. Who knows.

And maybe Gemini as an alternative for ChatGPT.

Also curious if we get betas today or next week. I am going with next week, but let's hope I'm wrong.
I think this week, and I don’t think they’ll waste time either. Maybe today or tomorrow. If they’re just prioritizing bug fixes for the rest of the iOS 18 cycle, the updates will keep rolling.

Usually the beta 1 is older than or at least the same as the latest stable version (in regards to when they were compiled), so it is unlikely to fix any bugs present in the stable version that soon.
Yeah I wouldn’t go installing a beta hoping for it to fix bugs 😆
