Didn’t see if anyone else posted this, but an issue I’m having on 26.1 that didn’t happen on 26.0.1 is that for select websites with password autofill, it’ll fill my username and password and then after it logs in, prompt me to save a username with that section blank but with my password present. The passwords app has both username and password in there; I manually type it in and hit save and then it happens again. Not sure if anyone else is having this issue? Had it on my M4 iPad Pro and now on my M5 which I set up as new with the 26.1b4 IPSW.

Respring isn’t user-initiated. Something crashes and the phone hiccups. You’ll typically see the little white spinner before it drops you back to the lock screen.

Restart is using your buttons or settings menu to power down then back up.
A small mention to the old times where you could force a respring, I think pressing the Home Button and opening the mail app or something like that.

I’m so far absolutely happy with 26.1 B4. So much better than 26.0
If apple is able to tweak this a bit further and fix more little bugs than we’re getting a really solid 26.1 release - a version that we should have expected for the general public release of iOS 26.

Now that it seems to have cooled down on my phone and stopped taking more and more storage space, I’m quite liking it again too. A good release.

Not sure if anybody has pointed this out but on the current 26.0.1 when you have reduce motion turned on it already tints the Liquid Glass… So my question is when you have reduce motion turned on can you get the Liquid Glass effect in the current beta? Or is it still hardwired to tinted mode?

Not sure if I mentioned it already but the stutter going between pages (widgets -> home <- App Library) is absolutely atrocious and I noticed last night it’s even worse with the tinted icons I have in my sleep focus.

I've seen multiple people saying they expect 26.1 next week, but shouldn't there be an RC before the official release?

I have had beta 4 since the public release. For me, this has been the best of all the 26.1 betas. The battery keeps getting better as the time has gone on. Personally, if you haven’t done 1-2 hard reboots after a couple of days since install, that often clears up a lot of my issues.

I have feedbacks listed from iOS 17 with “More than 10 reports” :p
When iOS 17 or 18 was in beta, they had redone the iPod interface that older cars use to play audio. I’ve had a bug where it plays the songs list in alphabetical order. Filed may bugs and still no movement. I had an uber driver that has the same problem.

Beta 4 seems to have gone downhill for me unfortunately. Seemed to work well since I installed it on Monday, very smooth.

Now my 17 Pro Max seems to be heating up a lot, randomly. Reboots don’t fix it - it’s sucking the battery whilst hot, for no apparent reason.

Nothing running in the background and good WiFi. Happens even after a fresh boot. Nothing downloading or backing up even.

I’m very surprised as beta 4 seemed like one of the best I’d used in a long time. There’s definitely some strange bug. I’ve a feeling it could be to do with the Photos app as its storage has ballooned by about 35GB, even though I had already downloaded my entire library from iCloud weeks ago.
Try a hard reboot: press volume up, press volume down, then press and hold power until the Apple logo appears.

Y’know I’ve been going through a rough period on beta 4 too with battery. I’m wondering if it’s a bit like a fresh install and the phone is doing a lot in the background?

If so, perhaps it will settle down. Only time will tell.
I don’t know, definitely doesn’t seem to be settling down here.

Also, I’m getting the adaptive power notification a lot more frequently, which suggests to me that the battery is draining more rapidly and this is kicking in to throttle it. Perhaps this is how they are testing the functionality of adaptive power.

In any case, regretting going to beta, despite it fixing the keyboard bug.

I truly hope battery life is better in the final 26.1 but not holding my breath based on b4 experience.

I've been having this issue on the past couple of 26.1 betas, only on MR of all places lol.

That's how much space is needed for the download. It's not more added to what you have.
It’s getting around 12 Gb on my device while others having 6-7 Gb :)
Think this might be a bug with the beta. Not the end of the world but I will see how it will behave with the final. If it’s still at 12 Gb I will deactivate Apple AI for a couple of days and then trigger a re-download.

Thanks for the tip, but it seems to have fixed itself. This leads me to believe it was simply background tasks, a lot of them.

Next time, check your storage right before the update, then check it again after the update in completed. I have no idea why the amount needed is different for different devices.

On iPadOS, does anybody have Home Screen icon re-springs (that is they all disappear for a second and then reappear straight away) when you minimise the full-screened app (can be Notes, Safari, Music, etc.)?

It happens on my M1 iPad Air with a fresh IPSW Beta 4 installation. I guess it must be RAM related (not enough), so wonder if anybody else has seen it?

Yes, on the iPhone 16 pm. Only by dark icons.

My iPhone does not re-spring, but iPad does with both light and dark icons. I suspected the RAM overflow, but since you have iPhone 16 PM you should have plenty. 🤔 Will see if it is fixed with the expected iOS 26 RC tomorrow and, if not, will report it directly to Apple.

I’ve seen something similar on my M5 iPad Pro. But my Home Screen issue is apparently related to the number of folder icons with multiple apps and web sites within. On my wife’s M1 she has no folders, only single apps and icons and she has never had any redrawing or disappearing icons.

I’m assuming RC tomorrow and I’m bored tonight so maybe I’ll install this beta 4 to use it for less than 24 hours before the RC drops.
Doesn’t make much sense since it typically takes longer than that for the phone to settle down after an update. No need to put unnecessary stress on the battery with the additional heat.
