From IOS 18 to IOS 26.2 - iphone 15pro, was the biggest mistake i've done recently. Im feeling the phone is slow, when you do a lot of things, a need to call someone, the phone app i so slow when i opened it. It takes time to load contanct or recents.... The biggest crap of the year........
hmmm, I wonder what's causing it for you as for me, also 15Pro, I'm not experiencing this, I can still do things as quickly (regarding responsiveness of the phone) as in iOS18... I.e. there is still hope! (... and I hope you find the culprit sooner than later! 🤞)

I'm having this same issue with the Phone app. Recents and Voicemails seem to take quite a while to load up instead of just being there already, as it's always been. Also, if I have Silence Unknown Callers enabled, and those calls are still being filtered, why do I still see a Badge Number for these missed calls? Where are the Voicemails left for the Unknown/Filtered calls? I can see the time stamp of their call, but no way to see if they've left me a Voicemail.. Sometimes I still get calls from unknown numbers, too. So it doesn't work 100% of the time. The Phone app, to me, is one of the worst apps now after the 26 OS's came out.

Not quite the same issue but my iPhone SE2020 incoming call ring is permanently muted. I've tried all the six or seven related settings published on net to unmute without success.

Does that model phone have the Silent switch on the side of the phone? If so, have you checked it to see if it’s in the mute position? (Not saying this to be snarky. When I used my iPhone 11 once there was a time I wasn’t getting any audio notifications for calls, etc and I looked at a number of settings but couldn’t see anything wrong, and then realised that the physical Silent switch on the side of the phone was in the mute position, so I must’ve accidentally caught it at some point.)

Thanks, but first thing I checked.

Does anyone know how to stop these suggestions from showing up in search? I know you can hide them but they end up coming back. The Verizon app “suggestion” to buy a new phone is the most annoying one.

Still unable to swipe away media in the Messages app to get back to the message. You used to be able to swipe away at any photo or video you watched and now you have to tap the X in the top right to get back. Pretty lame..

Open Settings. Tap Siri & Search. Scroll down the list of apps until you find Verizon (or the specific app annoying you).

Tap on it and toggle OFF these two settings:
- Show App in Search
- Suggest App (or "Learn from this App")

You can also turn off all the Siri suggestions in Search: in Settings, under Siri & Search, scroll down to the "Suggestions" section. Toggle OFF the switch for "Suggest Apps before searching".

I don’t really use iMessage, more WhatsApp. But I have the odd message in Messages. I haven’t got any videos, but have a couple of conversations with photos. Opening an image in the message, I can still swipe anywhere on the photo to ‘dismiss’ it, I don’t need to press the X button. (15 Pro.)

The settings in iOS 26 are different but I found them. I turned both those off and it does not seem to do anything - the suggestions for those apps are still showing up.

Does anyone else have an issue with excessively high other storage? It’s been ballooning ever since 26.2.

I don’t trust restoring it as I recently set up my Mac back on Sequoia and found that iCloud messages is missing 2 years worth of data. Can’t trust that all my data has been backed up.

What an absolute dumpster fire of a release cycle.

What do you mean different? I checked on my phone to type my answer. Weird. Maybe I mistyped something.

Anyway, very strange that this is not enough to make the suggestions disappear. Then I'm not really sure either...

CarPlay does not work for 3 different model iPhones in 2 different cars using 3 different cables.
Your Mileage may vary, though...

My Feedback is still open with Apple. Seems like the common theme is that if you have a shiny new iPhone 17 of some kind, you're good. Otherwise CarPlay may have been fixed in the latest official 26.2 release. Not here, though...
I have iPhone 17 pro max and wired CarPlay consistently freezes and crashes in one of our two vehicles.

FWIW, I see no movement on the feedback I've filed for this, FB21062288. There's all sorts of juicy log files for them to look at if they cared...

There’s literally 100’s of cars they should be able to support and did at some point. Some people have issues and others don’t. Just because you have one model iPhone and car, and it works, doesn’t mean it’s working for others. I’ve got a 2018 Impala, a Subaru Crosstrek, and an iPhone 16 Pro Max. Not working.

One thing I've noticed is that older cars with USB-A plugs seem a bit more sensitive to what cable is being used. Especially if you are using USB-A to USB-C cables.

I don't have Carplay in my Volvo but recently the iPod function (I use that instead of BT, better sound quality) stopped working. Not sure but think it was with the iOS 26 update. BT still works tho.
Have heard similar things from people that has swapped from their old lightning phones to USB-C phones and hooking it up to older cars with USB-A plugs. So might be an idea to try a different cable if possible just to rule that out.

Of course, if it has worked before and the cable is undamaged, it's more likely to be SW issues.
Could be a good idea to reach out to the car manufacturer as well to see if there are any updates to the infotainment system.

I'm not going to re-hash all of the prior comments about what was tried and what wasn't.. But I will say that I DID go out and buy a new Cable at an Apple Store. No go. This is in a 7 year old car where CarPlay has worked the entire time flawlessly using a number of different model phones.. iOS 26 comes around (Maybe 26.1? Can't remember, but not "iOS 26" specifically) and doing some pretty extensive testing, 3 phones no longer work with a cable but do with a BlueTooth dongle. Problem "solved"? No. BlueTooth means audio dropouts when in use. A Cable negates that and also charges my iPhone...

At any rate, I've filed feedback with Apple, others have noted the same issues, some have seen improvements while others have not.

Like in the old Windows days where Printer Drivers were needed, and how many Printer Drivers there could potentially be? Well, it seems as though Apple removed the "Drivers" (it's a technical term lol) for CarPlay for a large number of iPhones and then immediately added them back.. Except for some cars. Seemingly, some Car Models that are also at odds internally with supporting CarPlay at all in their new cars (cough cough GM cough cough)...

I haven’t had any issues but I use my new in box Samsung type c cables from all of my old phones lol.

This is by far the worst iOS keyboard yet. I can’t type without a billion typos. There’s a delay between tapping a key like it can’t keep up and they changed the tap zones so it’s less accurate. iOS 26 really is the worst iOS update. Apple really screwed the pooch with this one.
