iPhone 16 Pro here. I’m not really a beta tester, but iOS 26.5 was driving me nuts with overheating which came out of nowhere after 1 month working fine, so I’ve been through this 26.6 betas.

iOS 26.6 beta 2 was fine, running much cooler than iOS 26.5 on my iPhone. Battery was fine getting 8+ SOT no problem.

iOS 26.6 beta 3 brought back the overheat.

Luckily iOS 26.6 beta 4 seems back to normal working temperatures for now just as beta 2

Though all 26.6 betas have been running smoothly overall.

Now I am hoping for a 26.6(.2?) fully stable release so I can leave my iPhone rest for a little until 27.2 or later comes out, just the same way I did with iOS 18.6.2 which I kept until I updated to iOS 26.4 due to that scary security issue.

After almost a day:
- it's quite speedy and smooth with minor stutters and lags here and there, like every 26.6 betas,
- battery life still trash, at this point they'll never bring back the battery life of iOS 26.3,
- in beta 2 thread I've written that I haven't had any CarPlay disconnects issues, beta 3 brought them back, so I'll see if it's still happening in beta 4. Today it hasn't happened,
- not a single graphical bug I'm seeing since 26.3 is fixed. 100% sure they'll not fix them, they're focusing on iOS 27.

Also I don't care that much about benchmarks but if someone's interested here's from top to bottom geekbench results: beta 4, beta 3 and beta 2

Update regarding beta 4 and CarPlay: seems like it's the same as in beta 2 - it hasn't disconnected and reconnected itself yet.

Sometimes when I unlock the phone, the swipe up animation stops in the middle for like a half a second. It happened maybe 5 times since updating to beta 4.

Battery life is unfortunately atrocious, the worst one I've ever had on this phone.
