iOS 26.6 RC ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Loving how snappy and smooth my Air is on 26.6!

I haven’t experienced and lag/stutters when unlocking to the Home Screen or any app redraws (yet) also battery life has improved.

Good to see the back of 26.5.2.

Its something I hate in terms of technology. Everyone wants the latest and greatest. One update comes in and then the countdown is on for the next update. It seems like something can't be enjoyed anymore because there is always the chase for the next thing.

It's interesting how updates on different platforms creates anticipation, but I guess it depends on the manufacturer and how they have created the "feeling" wanting the next thing.
One part of me think its great, I use this myself to get people that have low or little understanding about IT-security (and generally also claim that "they don't care") to update their phones. Kids love new emojis and if updates has 5 new ones it will make them update and they get IT-security patches and bug-fixes at the same time.

But if you compare it to Android or Windows its very little anticipation in between the bigger feature releases as they generally only fixes bugs and IT-security issues.
I do appreciate that Apple has stepped up and release more fixes, but I hope they are moving towards a bit more MS focus with lets say half year feature releases and stick to bug/it-security patches in between those.

Works fine and solved the impossibility to send SMS with Messages. Like it.

RC does NOT fix the overheating issue people are experiencing with the phone, doing nothing; or simple web browsing and it getting hot and so the battery drains faster.

I’m reading reports of this being fixed in iOS 27.

Good to know that its just not me experiencing this!
