On a scale from 1 to 10, how buggy is the beta? I’m getting the itch to get it on my iPhone but not sure if I should hold out for the 2nd or 3rd beta

Angelica: If you have to ask, you'll never know.

But seriously... don't put it on your primary phone unless you 1) don't care if you have to restore it and start over, 2) don't mind half the battery life, and 3) want to participate in making it better rather than just get it early because you have FOMO. I would recommend putting it on an iPad or a junk-drawer phone first. Unless you have a backup phone, I don't see much in the new OS worth risking my daily driver.

My experience has been okay. I have some things look odd or load slowly and I need to force close the app and start over. Nothing just fails to work. It's... fine.

For me, its a

5 – Mixed Bag
Half smooth, with the odd stutter. Some apps might crash or become unresponsive, animations glitch at times, and the battery drain seems okay. I’m running it on an M2 iPad Pro 256gb cellular. I’m able to do my work on it. I have a Macbook Air incase I can’t do something due to the beta. I am enjoying it even with the bugs.

Update: CarPlay would not load at all, no matter what I tried, on my way to the gym.

On the way back, trying to press play on the Music app on the phone did eventually get it to connect.

It’s on my main device. Bit of animation lag and slight stuttering here and there but been using with CarPlay and work… really solid beta 1. Battery is obvs down a bit but that’s to be expected.

Normally things get worse for beta 2 then it’s 3 when you really start to notice things.

My biggest issue is that it’s laggy, but this is always the case on a new beta.

I did have to reset network settings today because my WiFi speeds were dropping. (None of the other quick fixes like forgetting the network, toggle airplane mode, etc., made a difference.

Ringer, alarm, notifications and app sound volume seem a little soft/low. Have to turn volume up a tad from when on ios 18.5. Almost didn’t hear my alarm Tuesday morning.

No, it's a rant. This was not announced as part of this beta. So you are not missing a setting and there is no bug to report.
Thanks, I know it’s not a bug. It’s a feature. I wasn’t claiming it was a bug a slight rant, yes. This threat is full of rants worse than mine.

A really odd change that I'm not sure I like is that when presenting Apple Wallet (double click side button) to select a different card, the cards now swipe up from the bottom. I need to relearn that behavior.. wonder why the change

I get it’s not a final product but this is from Apple’s website. How could anyone see this and think it looks good? I’m getting queasy just looking at it. How does this even make it into a first beta? The text is really hard to read. I guarantee you reactions would be different if the transparency was reduced in certain places. You can still retain the ‘glassy’ look but text is legible.

And control center…my god, what is this abomination? How in the world did this make it into a beta?

You can reduce transparency in the Accessibility settings you know… and you don’t HAVE to use the “all glass” look. Apple didn’t even make it default, like they normally do. You have to specifically turn this on.

Plenty of people will like this (particularly the teens and 18-25 segment) so this is for them. Otherwise you can use the default icons or the tinted option which drastically reduces transparency and makes what you are showing much more legible
