I never said anything about notifications. I know how they work. There are no notifications when this happens. I can push the button and as soon as it goes off, one second later it comes back on. This happens a lot. My friend also sees this behavior on his iPhone. Next update likely fixes it.
Maybe I didn’t explain what I meant well.. there all sorts of things that run in the background that will wake the screen up.. mine wakes up if I’m listening to music and the track changes. There no notification but it does wake the screen. Perhaps you have something like that going on.. just offering you suggestions to look at to identify & resolve your issue

Just curious - can you swipe down on an inactive dynamic island to bring the notification panel (just like it used to work on iPhones with a notch) or it still doesn't work? Can somebody please check that?
Home Screen: yes
Lock Screen: no

Lockscreen does not make sense at all because you are already at the notification screen 🤣

I have downloaded it on my iPad Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max now. The videos and screenshots looked nice. But I don’t like the design much. In some apps it looks great but mostly really like Vista. But let’s see how it will change

Since they have adjusted the background of the menu items (both top and bottom) to address all of the readability complaints from b1, I honestly do not believe there is any reason for the “blur” effect present at the top and bottom. They should remove it and make it clear top to bottom..

dark magic … 😳

No, to be serious:
Maybe it’s because your iPad and iPhone are connected over iCloud, maybe that’s why it appeared first on your iPhone and then on your iPad ?
Just guessing

Just realized something weird- when in the iPhone Mirroring App on macOS, and you’re viewing Safari on iOS 26, I’m not seeing any way to close it even get to my other tabs. I’m used to swiping up on the URL bar, but in lieu of that gesture, how are we supposed to get at our tabs while mirroring on macOS?

Use bottom tab bar instead of compact and you get the tab switcher box thingy (far right icon).

Ok, so Feedback just needs to be filed for this. We shouldn't have to use a Different View Style to see something that's missing.

FWIW, I submitted FB18975939 to include the Tab option in the Compact View, not just the top and bottom bar View…

I have now made a suggestion via the feedback app as to whether a slider (like the one in the lock screen settings for the thickness of the digital clock) could be installed for the intensity of Liquid Glass. Then every user could set it themselves, and the debates (transparent or frosted glass) about it would be obsolete and a thing of the past.

Could be unrelated to the beta, but I went to ask Siri a question today and I got as far as "Siri, how much...." and she cuts me off sand says "Calling so-and-so" That person was my boss who was off that day. I hit the side button and it didn't cancel the call. Got a couple of rings in and I hung it up.
I could have thrown myself into a corner when I read that 😂
Then don't ask Siri anything about abortion or celibacy, or she'll call the Pope.

It is still there, also in the new compact view, you just have to click more, starting with the three dots at the bottom right.

1. Im on Dev Beta 3. Is it overall better to install today/tomorrow Dev Beta 4 or Public Beta 1?

2. Is Public Beta 1 going to be the same as Dev Beta 3?

If you are already on a dev beta, there is zero reason to go to a public beta.

If we get DB4 today, we will probably get PB1 tomorrow (at least that is what Gurman is saying). But public betas are the same as developer betas, just typically released a day or two after in order to give some time to make sure there are no big showstoppers like things that would brick the phone. They don't want beta testers to end up in Apple stores asking for support, so they wait a bit. Every once in awhile a dev beta gets pulled or re-released due to issues, but its not very common.

Stay on the dev beta track if you are already there. You can always just wait a day or two to install to be safe if you are concerned about day 1 beta issues. That's the exact same as being on the public beta track.
