Most everything is almost clear for me like notifications. I am super stoked how this is turning out. Loving the new ways of doing everyday tasks across the board. Performance is great. Hope they keep it more glassy now that they have it such that you can read things in the boxes now. Perhaps because I have darker wallpaper and use the dark icons. I dunno but I like it!
Is the way how to do tasks in any way changed with the new Design Elements?

That’s nothing worth saying- as many of us already mentioned - means it was just compiled in one rush!
maybe one thing to add to the "a" build hype ...

Yes, indeed it has some importance as the QA (Quality Assurance) released already the first build and didn't find any issues, which would have led to a subsequent "b" and upper builds. So this build can be considered as pretty ok, but following beta might require more builds again especially if the introduced or changed something.
Therefore not really linked to a 'release build' ...

The revert back to frost sucks. It’s basically the same as iOS 18 now, just a bit more frost and blur.
That’s not true. There are clearly new design elements. Overall the new design is by far not that big or groundbreaking as advertised. The way we will use the phone will stay the same. There are just some visual updated elements and some buttons are now on the bottom.
The amount of glass/transparency highly depends on the background. With a more light/white background it turns more into a frosty look while with other backgrounds it’s more transparent.
Again: as always not everybody will be 100% satisfied, this is impossible.

My 16 Pro is now on iOS 26! It got quite warm during the update which is to be expected. Running warm immediately after but there’ll be a lot of background stuff happening now.

First impressions.

Love the new design tweaks across the board and the Liquid Glass effect looks great!

Performance seems on another level compared to iOS 18! So fast and everything just feels so much snappier and much more fluid. Fantastic!

The keyboard is much faster when typing compared to iOS 18

Hi all! I‘m confused with the lockscreen options. Jumped on the beta train with PB3, now on PB4. I swear some of the pictures I used on PB3 I could setup as a lockscreen with both (!) spatial (? > tilt moves background) and 3D effect (clock hides behind something in the picture). Now all I seem to manage to do is either one or the other.
Is it me? The picture? The Beta? Or am I imagining things?
Thx!

Still enjoying ios26, mainly because I like change (and enjoy fast animations 😬).

Same for me. It seems to be either/or. However, those created in previous betas (4 or 5) retain both effects.

Not sure why everyone is putting all the onus on Apple for this... as fragmented as Android is, many Android clients don't support RCS 3.0, which means that even when Apple does, there's a good possibility that the convo with an android user still won't be E2EE...
Android is fragmented but basic apps are updated through Play Store, so even if the phone keeps the same android version it would get an update for the Messages native app.

After reading your post, I tested my clear icon setup (16PM) and didn't get any that flashed black.
Are you sure? Look very carefully. It’s for a split fraction of a second.

Mine does not look like this - strange…
Don’t know what to tell you. Unless some weird setting (other than reduce transparency which is off) got turned on for me on beta 7, this is less glassy than beta 6. Some elements basically look so blurry and frosted that I can’t spot the Liquid Glass at all.
