Tapping the date doesn't do anything for me. If there's fitness widget that might be stopping it from appearing. Not working for me. When I click on the date, it keeps opening my fitness app.
and to buy a new fast charger.Slow charging (5W) isn't bad, it's even better for the battery. Looks like they 'warn' you on purpose so that you use a faster charger -> faster heating -> faster battery degradation.
They probably mixed it up with Adaptive Power, which is only available on Apple Intelligence-capable devices apparently, and the rumors preceding WWDC called it an AI feature.Who said it was AI anything?
This feature predates Android's usage.Android has had this for years….

Well that's disconcerting. They're already starting to put quality of life features that aren't really "AI" behind the AI banner, probably to encourage us people without interest in AI to turn it on.They probably mixed it up with Adaptive Power, which is only available on Apple Intelligence-capable devices apparently, and the rumors preceding WWDC called it an AI feature.
Typical Tim Cook.An estimate of the time it takes a device to charge used to be available on the Mac, but Apple removed it long ago.
That happened long before TC was running things so... typical Steve Jobs I guess.Typical Tim Cook.

Probably paywalled behind the iPhone 16 as well.How-long-until-charged is a feature that countless rechargeable devices have offered since the 19-friggin-90s. It amazes me how they tout obvious retro features as bold innovations.
So what operating system was showing a phones battery charging progress on the AOD lock screen BEFORE Android? This feature predates Android's usage.

We dont. We had it in Powerbooks. And only in Apple land do people act like it's some breathtaking innovation.

In my experience that never works well since your time to 0% changes depending on what you are doing; like going from answering emails to watching a movie.Don't worry, folks. We'll get a "minutes remaining until depleted" setting in 10 years. 🙄
Having to go into the settings app, kinda ruins it a little.![]()
Android copied it from existing phones.

It's on the lockscreen too, sort of:
Click on the date above the time.
I know of at least one brand of free government phone that already does this!!
Yes, those utterly slow, very basic phones that the government offers for needy folks free of charge!!
Having to go into settings to see how much time is left, but as pointed out — you'll be able to see that on Lock Screen. What’s wrong with settings? Just the inconvenience of clicking on it or something else entirely?
