Keep in mind there were bugs that were reported after 26.1 b1 was released, and they were fixed in 26.0.1. It would make sense if Apple needs a little more time to add that to 26.1
You’ve been here long enough to know that release dates are set weeks in advance unless it’s a critical bug. They don’t wake up every morning looking at reports and decide to start working on those now so they could release the fix next week. It’s a very sophisticated OS that requires thorough testing which is not done on a whim or in a few minutes.

I wasn’t arguing one way or the other. My point was that saying “next week” after 4 minutes is a bit silly. At the end of the day, none of us know anything and we’re all guessing.
I too find the race to say next week or some variation as at best an amusing lack of understanding of the process. It’s always fun seeing a see you next week post followed soon after by an “it’s out post”.

Ok so no new beta.
I’m fine with all, at least we get a very solid final 26.1 release. One week more, or without a beta is ok.

Considering that this update will probably be released by the end of October, the first week of November at the latest, I would be surprised if we didn't have beta 2 this week, to be honest.

iOS 18 was a odd ball, so going to look back to before this release.

iOS 17 - had 3 betas and 2 RCs (public Weds Oct 25th)
iOS 16 - had 5 beta and 1 RC (public Mon Oct 24th)
iOS 15 - had 4 betas and 2 RCs (public Mon Oct 25th)

So assuming 4 or 5 betas and or RC, we could be looking at the following:

Sept 22nd week beta 1 was released.
Oct 6th week - potentially beta 2
Oct 13th week - potentially beta 3
Oct 20th week - RC (maybe beta 4)
Oct 27th week - potentially public release

Tomorrow to me will be the telling sign. It could be the first time in a while we get a 1 PM Eastern Dev / 4 PM Eastern Public. If we don't get something tomorrow, I think we align to the schedule above.

Today is a good possibility. I’m sure there have been beta releases on Thursdays.

So based on history, Monday is likely 2 weeks until the RC. It won't be too long even if there's no beta this week.
