Hypertension notifications in more countries could mean an update today.

I'd guess that this change would be a server-side update. And even if not, if the rollout of the hypertension thing is going to more places, wouldn't that be a GA release and not a beta update?

iOS 18 was released 9/16 & 9/20 (iPhone 16 Day 1 update); 18.0.1 was released 10/3 and 18.1 was released 10/28.
iOS 17 was released 9/18 & 9/22; 17.0.1. was released 9/21 (15 Pro only); 17.0.2 was released 9/26 and 17.0.3 was released 10/4. Finally, 17.1 was released 10/25.

Given that we are already at 10/7, we probably won't see another update prior to 26.1 unless because 26.1 is such a large update, that is delayed until November. Usually we see x.2 end of November/Early December.

With that being said, I would like a 26.0.2 because I still have many annoying little graphical bugs.
But you totally forget that especially these small point updates are not only about bugfixes all the time, they are often because of security reasons.
That’s why 26.0 isn’t signed anymore, because of a security issue that was fixed with 26.0.2
Means the version history of the past doesn’t mean that much for these smaller updates.

I believe well see 26.1 public during the week of October 27th. Because to fit in 26.2 before Christmas / New Year, I feel like we would need to see the following:

Potential 26.2 Beta Schedule:
Week of Nov 3 - Beta 1
Week of Nov 17 - Beta 2
Week of Nov 24 - Beta 3
Week of Dec 1 - Beta 4
Week of Dec 8 - RC
Week of Dec 15 - Public Release

Historical Aspects:
18.2 - 4 betas / 2 RC
- 2 weeks between beta 1 and 2
- Released Dec 11

17.2 - 4 beta / 1 RC
- 2 weeks between beta 1 and 2
- Released Dec 11

16.2 - 4 beta / 1 RC
- 2 weeks between beta 1 and 2
- Released December 13

I’ve been really enjoying the new Slide Over implementation in the second iPadOS 26.1 beta! I hadn’t used Slide Over ever since Stage Manager was introduced in iPadOS 16, but I am finding new ways to incorporate it into my workflow now that it’s incorporated into the multi-windowing system. And the great thing about this new implementation is that Slide Over windows are re-scalable like normal app windows, which makes it more useful for a wider range of purposes. 👍🏻. And it also works on external monitors, so I can have a Slide Over window on the desktop display, and another one on the iPad’s display! 👍🏻

Hope for Monday :)
Travelling on that day. Looking forward to the 26.1 final but probably we won’t get that before the first week of November.

It will probably depend on when the new iPads are out. Considering they have already been assembled and leaked, I think we might be getting them in late October (at least the announcement).

Still doing comparisons between 26.0.1 and 26.1 B2 on my second phone.
The adaption of font colours between white to black for the Liquid Glass buttons is awful in 26.0 so often it simply doesn’t make sense.
Attached one example picture from the photos app. A black font doesn’t make sense here.
iOS 26.1 is choosing a white font here, furthermore it’s also possible that the upper part uses a different color than the buttons on the lower part.

Can’t wait for this update.

I think iOS 26.0.2 will come this week to add support for the new hardware to be released soon:

This also means that Apple will not be in a rush to release 26.1, so we could have B3 this week, B4 next week (20-21 Oct), RC (27-28 Oct) and then 26.1 could go public on Monday, 3 Nov.
