I think Monday for the release. I also think there could be a remote chance we see something tomorrow. The .1 releases have historically been in October, so if Apple wants to stay with that cadence for some reason, then tomorrow would make sense.

Although it's not TOO likely, there have been Friday 'point' releases before. Just to stick to an October schedule.. Otherwise I'd agree that we'd be looking towards Monday.

Apple seems to go towards Mondays, I would agree that we are probably looking at Nov 3rd. I wouldn't be surprised 26.2 as early as Tuesday. If we look at the trends and the fact that X.2 normally has four betas, they would need to probably align to the following to stay on track. Unless they only go one week between beta 1 and 2.

Beta 1 - Nov 3 week
Beta 2 - Nov 17 week
Beta 3 - Nov 24 week
Beta 4 - Dec 1 week
RC - Dec 8 week
Public - Dec 15 week
Traditional holiday break Dec 22 week to New Year (maybe with a 26.3 beta 1 in there)

Does anyone think we’ll get an RC2 before the public release, or will Apple just push out a new build on release day next week?
My intuition says new build for GA on Monday. But I’m waiting until next hour to see if an RC2 happens to drop before installing this build.

Hi, I don't remember: usually, do they release the GA xx.1 of ios + watchos + macos the same day ?

Because, if they do it, we cannot speculate without a global view of the entire ecosystem problems 😅

Yep. Can't recall a time when it wasn't so.

I expect release on Monday (Tuesday at latest, but Apple seems to prefer Mondays for public releases). Given recent experience, I also expect a higher build — that seems to have become a new normal.
Also think it will be a higher build today, too many bugs in the RC. Interestingly, it’s running much better on the Air than on the 16P which indicates that focus is on last gen optimizations.

Even the probably higher build of the final will contain too many bugs in your opinion. I’m pretty sure about that.

Agreed, it’s totally fine on my iPhone 17, yet stumbles on iPad Air 5 (M1).

Yeah excited for the release! Sadly, I’ll have to install it later today, as I’m going to be busy when it drops. But I’m going to be even more interested in seeing what comes with the first beta of 26.2! 👍🏻
