Hopefully they release 26.2 soon. I didn’t want to be on 26.1 to begin with but they wouldn’t release 26.0.2. Maybe they’ll cancel this one too, who knows

They’ll release their updates according to their internal schedule and not your personal preferences. Apple is clearly testing 26.2 and X.2 has been part of their SDLC for decades. And to get to X.3 you need to have X.2. Why would you assume it’s going to be cancelled?

Sometimes the things you say don’t make sense at all.

And you’re not complaining about your issues anymore so I take it that they’ve been resolved after your do-over?

im thinking we might get a 26.1.1 update this week, was looking at previous 1.1 updates and there have been several of them going as far back as iOS 10.1.1

18.1.1 was released last year on november 19th so if there is such a thing as 26.1.1 would have to be this week i would think - next week is thanksgiving and then its too close to the 26.2 release.

What part of it had to make sense? It’s a speculation thread. You seem to take it really personally that I want a new update to come out.
Not sure what do-over you’re referring to. I’m on 26.1 since the RC. It’s still occasionally glitchy (had a bug yesterday where Safari wouldn’t let me move my tabs) but I haven’t experienced any full resprings or crashes yet, thankfully.

The do-over refers to your bricking with one of the updates you mentioned earlier.
Pointing out the obvious isn’t taking personal.

Anyway, there’s a chance for a 26.1.1 today.

I'm on 26.2 Beta 3 now and it's really smooth. Feels like a final. No heat, battery life is great too.

Agreed. Only one intermittent issue for me what I posted about in the B3 thread and reported to Apple. I’m a pretty happy camper at this point. Let’s get the RC out and move on to 26.3.

lol what a strange take. I guess everyone is waiting for further updates because 26.0 really wasn’t that great.
26.1 is a much better version that’s totally fine to use.
26.0.2 was not released because 26.1 was so close. 26.2 will of course not be cancelled.

Uff final that late. Ok we will see.
My 17 Pro is looking forward to this update, while I won’t complain about 26.1 that much.
I think so, and seeing the beta 3 they've released, it still needs a lot of work on 26.2. And now comes the Thanksgiving break, so I wouldn't be surprised if, instead of a Release Candidate (RC) as we should expect, we see a beta 4 in the first week of December. Starting the beta cycle later has its downsides.

Still need a lot of work?
In which way? Overall the impression of beta 3 seems to be positive overall.

On my 17 Pro, battery life has noticeably plummeted, the visual bugs remain unfixed, and they've added some new visual errors. Like me, many people have noticed the drop in battery life in this beta 3, which is ultimately the most serious issue.

Although the visual glitches of the dark icons changing to light icons when opening a folder, only to revert back to dark, are annoying and unworthy of a company like Apple.

When I scroll back in the list to see how much space an app is using, the end of the screen loads at 20fps, and this is new in this beta.

In short, they've ruined battery life and haven't fixed any of the bugs from beta 2, nor have they added anything new to justify this. Considering they started the beta cycle later, and seeing how much work they still have along with the vacations they'll be taking, I think it's very likely they'll delay the release because a beta 4 wouldn't hurt. At this time last year I had 4 betas of iOS 18.2. I don't see how a Release Candidate launched in the first week of December can cover everything.

Read a lot of positive comments about battery life on beta 3 and/or no huge change overall. In think in general this huge obsession about battery life needs to stop with every single new version.
Regarding your comments and it’s bad if you have this experience but I would guess you won’t be happy with a 26.2 final neither.

Battery life comments should be restricted to public releases.
When you know you’re only gonna be staying on a version for a week or two at best, there’s no point in discussing battery life.

Why should any type of comments should be restricted? Skip ahead if you’re not interested in those, but many of us like discussing all aspects, including battery performance.

More power to you but there’s no need to get emotional over this. I didn’t mean restricted as in making it official. It’s meant as users discussing battery life in the official release threads and keeping it to a minimum in the beta threads.

It was just a suggestion. Discuss what you like.

Understand and apologies for coming across a bit strong. I get where you’re coming from and frankly I hardly ever discuss battery life because I rarely notice any difference or by the time I do is time to move on to a new beta, to your point. But in some cases like this beta 3 it’s been a lot more notable, so folks are naturally interested in sharing the experience.

There are many positive results, and many negative ones, which is normal to a certain extent. What I'm saying is that it seems very strange to me that the beta cycle is progressing, and what little they managed to fix seems to have been undone.

If you enter a beta program only to avoid reporting bugs you find in your unit, including battery life issues, it makes the beta program pointless. Complaining makes even less sense in a stable version, because unless they're serious bugs, they won't fix them for at least a month.

And of course, besides reporting the bugs I've found in the relevant forum thread, I've also reported them to Apple, which is ultimately the right thing to do. All the bug reports I've mentioned have more than 10 copies, so unfortunately, they're not isolated incidents.
