I’m on 26.3 and I see this

What just going to post. If you are already on the 26.3 beta, it is hiding as a background security update.

Settings > Privacy & Security > Background Security Improvements

Edit: But if plainly says it doesn't fix anything. lol

After this, I’m really starting to think there are people at Apple watching this thread and laughing at us.

In all seriousness, I would certainly hope so. There are likely a fair number of people who participate in the beta program, but never really participate. Maybe those people don't want to put the effort into filing actual bug reports, or maybe they just feel more comfortable airing their complaints in other places, like this forum.

Even if it isn't perfectly lined up with their typical bug report requirements, I expect Apple still values the opportunity to capture some portion of those viewpoints that would otherwise fly under the radar.

I love when people comment with no actual confirmation of anything as if they’re stating actual facts. I got it on my 17pro in the US. So it’s not just for EU users or older model phones. Go into settings and privacy security and scroll down to background security improvements and a toggle shows up.

Ditto, 15PM USA.

This actually isn't news, the (quasi live) background security updates - with (a), (c), etc. appended - were already introduced with iOS 16 or 17 - don't know exactly, but that's not hot news. Maybe they had to reactivate them, cause they got screwed by the "innovation" of Liquid (Gl)Ass?

As another colleague here said, these security updates are not new but they were forgotten for some reason in the past. At the time I think they did two tests like yesterday's, but they were never used for a general release.
