I could see beta 3 today
Just listened to the latest Gruber podcast and he said that the betas were in a really bad shape just before the keynote and that he thinks they will rapidly improve the beta software over the summer so an early weekly beta acceleration is not completely out of the question 😉

Pretty sure Apple has skipped the week of July 4th in the past few summers but if what Gruber says is true, we could see b3 today. Doubtful though since a lot of US employees take the week off.

Thats why I dont think they will release a beta next week.

The employees will take a long weekend and they wont release something just after they return from a break. Also, today is good because you have still a couple of days to quick fix serious bugs until the 4th...

It's either today or the 14th / 15th of July.

Wonder if we will ever get a Jason Schreier-esque book on crunch culture in Apple software development. Do they get holidays off in the summer? Do they work more than 40-hour work weeks during the summer? Or are they sleeping at work and working 16-hr days on a diet of pizza and Mountain Dew? Just curious what the work/life balance is like there this time of year.

I'm hoping for B3 today, but doubtful due to the holiday... my UI on the 16PM has been really jittery and buggy. It almost feels like my phone is being limited to 30hz motion :(

Will be 120hz feeling with official release I believe and hope ! If it bothers you to much, rollback to iOS 18.5 🙏

One week into this beta and the only complaint I have is battery life. I’m away from the house for 16ish hours on my work days and I used to end the day around 25% with no charges on the way. It’s inconsistent but I’ve lost around 30% since going to 26.

That said, I’m very happy with this update. I’d be okay with an update today but I’m perfectly comfortable with another week on this build.

I still have a small sliver of hope that they did 18 yesterday so they can focus on 26 today, perhaps shifting to Tuesday releases starting with B3

I don’t there’s ever been a Beta 3 for a major version to come just 1 week after Beta 2. I’m as eager to get the next one as everybody else, but chances are slim.

Yeah, we won’t see weekly betas until probably a month before release. Then we’ll probably get 4 in a row or so, plus an RC or two. Who knows.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I believe it was iOS 18 beta times when many of us hope to get week to week release early in the beta process.
Someone (don’t remember who) was saying that apple already has fixed beta release dates months before they start releasing them to us.
So I don’t believe either that we will see beta 3 today.

Possibly a year or so in advance even. This stuff is FOR SURE planned out well in advance. There are all sorts of beta/alpha versions of iOS in use internally. There's a specific channel we all get the releases on, just like some folks might already be testing iOS 27 even.. But, only the Apple knows.
