I updated 2 phones over mid speed wifi in 45 mins, so no....
I saw this and wanted to eat my words, but then it zoomed through and rebooted. Took maybe 7 minutes or so?

I just installed iPadOS 26 Beta 5, and it took exactly 15 minutes. Started installing at 2:11 PM, ended installing at 2:26 PM. Internet isn’t even the fastest either, averages around 200mbps…

FYI 15PM & 16P updated to 23A5308g and then backed up using iTunes took about 20 minutes. No problems although very little time running the IOS26 B5 so far.

I did NOT backup first as both iPhones were already backed up previously.

Reposting since I put it in the wrong thread:

Since everyone was arguing about how long it takes to install, I thought I’d document mine. iPhone 16 Pro, coming from beta 4 to beta 5, OTA update via cellular. I started the process at 1:24 pm.

1:24 — backup started

2:07 — got impatient, restarted phone, backup failed

2:09 — OTA download started

2:13 — preparing update

2:39 — preparation completed

2:40 — installation started (restart, apple icon, progress bar)

2:47 — installation completed (phone restarted, back up and running)
