17 PM, US version.
I jumped on the beta train with the latest one, coming from iOS 26.6.1

Tuesday I had really bad cellular coverage, the indexing still was ongoing and no wifi available so all day on 5G.
Don't mind the second line not having coverage, I am aboard and I selected on purpose a restricted network so Wifi Calling can go through even on cellular with the other eSIM (no impact on battery).

I stop the charging at 80% as I'm often on the car with wired CarPlay.
How does your battery life compare to iOS 26.6.1?

I'd say more or less the same considering that I had bad cell reception during all last week before updating and that iOS 27 is still on beta and all the analytics processes happening in the background

Holy wow, how does your battery last that much? Mine uses twice what you're seeing. Also 17PM. Although some apps use noticeably more battery than others, even if just scrolling some feed...

80% charging limit (since the phone's often plugged in at the office or in the car), 5G Auto, all background refresh disabled except for 2 apps, on Wifi as much as possible when trusted networks are available and when the 2 lines are enabled, I do the trick to have one use VoWifi over the other one's cellular data.

Battery capacity is still at 100% for the moment

My iPhone 17 Pro Max battery is noticeably worse on Beta 7 compared to Beta 6—I'm losing at least an hour of screen-on time. Beta 6 was absolute beast mode. Hopefully the RC build fixes this.

On Beta 7 - brand new Air after a few days.

Mostly wifi, like 90%.

I also think usage will drastically be different based on what was being used vs the actually number of hours on screen.

Yeah, how much WiFi & 4/5G has a big impact and also what you’re actually doing on your phone.
How new is your Air? That can impact battery performance after setting up a new iPhone out of the box.

I got 8hrs of active screen time on a day with at least 95% WiFi use for 101% of the batteries capacity… nothing particularly processor intensive - social media, emails, YouTube, safari etc.
when I’m on WiFi I turn mobile data off.

On days where I’m mostly using mobile data and it’s connecting to 4/5G networks, then worst case scenario screen time for 100% of the batteries capacity can be 5hrs. It’s not often I have days without WiFi like that.

15PM here. 84% battery left. Loaded the public beta the other day. Definately noted the better battery and quicker app opening. I do think there is some slight chopiness to the movement around the screens but im not too worried as they usually get that cleaned up. My big surprise is how similar 26 and 27 are in terms of looks.

So, we'll see if we go new battery in the 15PM or jump on an 18. Stable release

Can people start commenting on their battery life compared to iOS 26.6/26.6.1.

And now that Developer Beta 8 is out, can we limit the discussion to DB8/PB5 or newer.

Also, with all the Air battery life screenshots, it feels my 16 PM with 94% health actually gets less on iOS 27 than the Air. That’s weird and I hope it is untrue

It is very tough (impossible) to compare battery life if you don’t have settings, brightness, apps used, etc.

I wouldn’t conclude too much about a screenshot with no context.

I’d say the biggest are brightness and apps used (I’d place them at the same level, gaming or video-heavy social media and full brightness have a massive impact), and then Wi-Fi vs cellular. Overall settings are relevant too.

It’s like I always say. Maximum battery life on my 16 Plus on iOS 18 is probably around 27 hours of SOT. But I can also kill it in… what? 6 hours? So a simple screenshot with no information would give you nothing to compare yours with.

Maximum battery life on your 16 Plus is achieved through significant optimisation for you? Low power mode on constantly, all background activity turned off, screen brightness low etc, which isn’t representative of real world use and the vast majority of users.

My Air finished indexing yesterday afternoon and this was the first day of similar usage on beta 8, significantly less screen time vs beta 7.

As it was still indexing I hope things improve in the coming days!

My results are further up in here 👍🏻

@c613m what was your usage, WiFi & 4/5G?
Oh, I just wanted your opinion, but honestly, it’s still the best, man! Compared to other iPhones you’ve switched out or upgraded over the years.

I am mostly wifi when I am home too. But weirdly I have still been hitting 20% a lot

Very early days but beta 8 seems to use more battery than beta 7! My Air only finished indexing yesterday afternoon so we’ll how it goes from here. Very up and down!

Yes, but that was not the point. The point was that if someone just shares a screenshot with no usage and settings information, I can’t do much with that. You share a screenshot of… 5 hours of SOT for a full battery. Yeah, all I can say is that that’s poor no matter what, but it may be correct (if usage was heavy), or not. And I can’t know that unless I have relevant information.

This aspect is especially relevant when you consider people who explicitly ask whether their battery life is good yet provide no information. “I have no idea” is my answer.

A meaningful battery life discussion necessarily requires sharing at least the most relevant of those details.

If I share a screenshot of, I don’t know, 14 hours of SOT with 45% remaining with no context, people will say that I have a super battery. I don’t, I’m just efficient. If I don’t say that, my results are misleading. (And pointless, especially if I’m asking for help).

The device and the iOS version are also super relevant: if I’m using an iPhone 13, then running iOS 26 would give me 25-35% worse battery life than if I were running iOS 15. If a user were to ask, my answer would be “it’s on you for updating”.

There’s a lot of relevant information that I just can’t say anything if it isn’t there.
