iOS 27 Beta 2 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

The keyboard feels great IMO, especially when swiping. My CarPlay hasn’t crashed since the update and battery life has seen an improvement. It just feels smoother overall than beta 1, which is actually saying quite a lot so I’m a happy camper.

My only gripe would be the loading times on this site.

I know I can use the correction feature. However, I have slowed my texting down because when I texted fast, it would have errors galore. The same is happening if I text slow as well.

Similar to the keyboard bug a month ago.

Yea it’s odd. Definitely a bug imo. It was definitely better on the latest update of iOS 26 that included the fix.

I’ll report the issue.

I hate to be that guy but have you restarted your phone since the update? The only wonky behavior I’ve seen is the autocorrected words flickering in and out of view.

Typing and swiping are perfect for me but I never had issues in 26 either.

On beta 2. On the Siri Waitlist. Go to your Siri screen. Change it from voice 2 to voice 4. Then change it back to voice 2 before she's done reciting the sample sentence.

Go back to your Siri waitlist screen.

The voice will keep switching — on its own — between voice 2 and voice 4!!

Screentime request approvals only work inside the messages app. Approving from the notification or on Apple Watch (running 26.6b2) doesn’t actually approve.

Same, 3 permanent unread, and also have texts completely disappearing after reading them. Automated texts from my doctor and bank have both disappeared shortly after I read them. I know I didn't delete them, because one disappeared in the middle of me trying to add an appointment to my calendar.

Edit: Just happened again, went to double check everything and saw a text from my other bank that I hadn't read yet. Read it, backed out of the screen, and when I tried to go into read it again the information inside disappeared. When I backed out again, the entire thread disappeared. FWIW. I keep the short codes for my bank and doctors in there respective contacts to keep them from winding up in spam or blocked by accident.

I started having connectivity issues today with my 17 Pro. Wi-Fi will show connected to my SSID in Settings > Wi-Fi, but will have "no internet connection" underneath it. The Wi-Fi symbol isn't in the menu. If I cycle, it goes back to the same thing. If I turn off Wi-Fi to go back to cellular, it still doesn't connect. I have Passepartout VPN installed. Disabling that didn't seem to fix it.

It's only happened when returning home. I never experienced this with DB1.
 
Auto-brightness has been pretty annoying for me since beta 1. Just feels like i constantly have to bump it up and it keeps dipping below 50% very consistently when indoors. Was relying on App Open automation to set the brightness when I open any app but that automation also broke this beta!

Clarification…

Its a different issue. The automations are working, but what’s happening is when I pull down on control center, it turns on the screen orientation lock automatically. I think it’s activating the app close automation when I pull control center down even though I’m not closing the app.

Similarly, starting a workout on my AW no longer puts my iPhone in low power mode, as it should per one of my shortcuts.

Went back to Beta 1 - I need my automations/shortcuts and I can live with CarPlay restarts.

Yup I definitely restarted the phone and tried other troubleshooting measures.

I'll chime in as well--I have the same badge on Messages "3", and none of the sub categories/filters show any unread messages.

And I also have had entire text message threads disappear, but they are not gone for ever. Going out and back in to that view/category enough times will often get them to come back.

Some icons don't show up right in the Siri suggestions widget, in this case YouTube. Or has Liquid Glass finally gone too far?

Just got off Siri’s waitlist an hour ago, but the Apple Intelligence storage shows up at a measly 16.04GB on my 17P. I was expecting it to be much higher.
