Setting up posters in the Contacts app is still frustratingly unintuitive and broken. There’s no visual indicator for where to put the focal point (like face) when using the built in scale & crop tool and if you use the name of the contact as a reference, the resulting poster often doesn’t reflect the changes you’ve made. On iPad/iPhone the resulting placement doesn’t match either.
It’s painful just getting someone’s face not to appear blurry behind their contact details or completely cropped off the top!
"force-closing" isn't really a thing given how iOS works, unless you specifically want to force an app to restart in a fresh launch state (if an app is actually running in the background, it requires a special carve-out permission, and it'll be indicated in some way like playing audio or a glowing colored bit at the top of the screen)
No, RCs tend to be the most stable release. Once it goes live, they introduce something that blows it the eff up. Been that pattern for years now, stretching back to iOS 13. There is something in the GM they flip that makes the OS run like molasses!
I see this across the entire OS. I run Dark Mode exclusively and half my emails are written in black text, over a dark background. Files and Safari show black text in the notification prompt when they download or move files. Only the first time, then they switch to white text. Photos has issues too, showing black desk when it should be white. Same problem OS26 is suffering from and they had 6 major iterations to fix it. Still not done in OS27 is abysmal. Apple must be 60% vibe coded at this point.
