More like the EU’s draconian and overreaching silly little edicts make it extremely hard to actually implement these features in their market…
... without being promptly fined for some random feature that isn't considered "open enough" by the EU regulators.

Really, if you think about it... the EU citizens did this to themselves. They griped to regulators about not being able to do whatever-the-heck-they-wanted-to with their smart phones. The regulators responded by writing a bunch of laws to slap around Google and Apple -- and specifically, to hit these companies where they knew it would hurt: their profit margins.

Should it really come as a surprise that Apple and Google are now far more careful about what they release in the EU?

Hope we get the new Apple TV soon once it’s ready. Unless I missed it, they didn’t show much for tvOS.

If they actually delayed the new Apple TV for tvOS 27, I’m expecting way more still.

Nonsense. We never asked for it. It is the techocrats in the EU bureacracy who are so keen on an open market and level playing field that they forget companies base their existence on doing something others can not do.

15PM & 16P update to iOS 27.0 (24A5355q) & no problems.

About 20 minutes total time.

Note in settings.

I don't know about that; I've seen plenty of EU citizen commentors in these forums who seem to think that their regulators are doing a right dandy job. Apparently you're not one of them.

I don't personally have my fingers on the pulse of politics in Europe... but if you think that maybe you represent the majority view, I would suggest that you and other likeminded citizens should probably get involved in your government, and boot those bureaucrats before they do any more damage.

There are right ideas but horrible execution, like their cross-platform messaging enforcement is just plain stupid / makes no sense how they handled it.

I‘m still not sure whether this is Apple throwing daggers without reason or EU being hostile. Last time around Apple had the same messaging, but EU was quick to shoot it down saying they see no reason that AI + device mirroring can‘t ship as is in EU.

I think the main reason EU has no Siri AI is the fact that it‘s currently limited to english only. You can‘t pull that off here, you need to support the big bang languages like German day 1 when launching or you get torn to shreds. It‘s imo just time play until they can actually ship more languages.

I speculate some changes will be coming to shadows and borders once DB2 releases. The phone app is pretty ugly now. Im not sure why all the white glass components have black borders now.

Light mode was much prettier on ios 26. Dark mode is prettier on iOS 27 DB1. The slider makes up for temporary ugliness.

I think he means like jumping on 27 without knowing what’s really new, without having seen the marketing waffle.
Proper software testing requires the prople making the changes to supply the test team with a Test Plan, including list of changes and expected behaviors. Apple supply none of that to us to my knowledge but I am not an app developer, just an invited tester.
Having said that, I found my first bug in Calendar inside ten minutes of installing. On an SE3 I have little to test and found only one change (liquid glass slider)

I hope theres a slider to make Siri and Apple AI features completely optional !

I dont want or need them - or i use my GROK Premium Account App.

Guys - how about talking about changes, things you like/dislike etc. in the appropriate Beta 1 Thread?

This right here is the specualtion thread for - well - speculating about what's to come...

@moderators: could you please pin/stick the this specualtion thread to the forum-list, too? Thanks! 🙂
