My top 3: file system, file system, file system

Not even a browsable file system, just a unified one that Apple & 3rd party apps could share (including folders or tags or some sort of simple organizational system).

YES! I would prefer it to be browsable, but I could live with unification. As it stands, I may have a PDF in GoodReader, i Annotate, and Noterize for different reasons, and so I end up with THREE copies, one for each App. Very inefficient and confusing.

As for my top choice, wireless syncing all the way - CUT THE UMBILICAL!

I will give up the file system as long as they give me a way to backup app data and restore it separately of a package deal. I need to be able to set up a device as new and get MY data back. Not only from a full backup.

Games, apps and such..... It shouldn't fall on the app developers to do this, it should have been part of it from the get go. My first Palm device had this for gosh sakes.

Ugh.

Time for more feedback on it.....

I think I may need to clarify to some people here what I mean when I said.

"Cut the umbilical cord"

What I meant was not to do with wireless syncing, which I'm thinking some may have thought.

So to clarify:

What I mean by that phrase was to make the iPad fully (or at least almost fully) independent from needing to be plugged into a computer to perform basic functions.

Needing to be plugged into a computer before you can even use an iPad is a bad start.

Then it's all the music, photo, arranging and all the things that go along with iTunes running on a PC or a Mac then having to do functions on the iPad.

Perhaps in the future iTunes could run on the iPad itself !

As I say, made it able to be it's own entity and not something that can't go too far away from a full computer to do things that should be built in.

I think there should be plugins that you can get from the iTunes store to do some of the modifications currently only enabled by jailbreaking.

Cloud-based Gaming

Sure HTML5 web apps are nice, but native apps that run straight off the web would be awesome! Just like Runescape!

The Finder.

OR, at least a full overhaul of Photos.
I would like to be able to delete photos synced over, move my photos to albums, create and delete albums.
Rotate photos (you can twist them around etc now.... but they don't stick)

:)

Add an photo editor that is built in to the photos app.(you tap to view a photo, click an edit button and have options to change contrast, brightness, crop, and advanced tools like in photoshop)

Unified file system would be great. Nothing too fancy.

Wireless sync! I guess Apple is reluctant to do this as it may cut into MobileMe sales. I don't need my iPhone calendar to sync instantly with my MacBook using 3G, so I don't need MobileMe. I would like to have that over a wifi network. Doesn't even need to be a full-sync- maybe only contacts, calender etc, or put a file-size limit on?

I'd like more control of the podcasts. Since I listen to podcasts on my iphone it would be nice to mark some of them for deletion from the phone.
Also the iTunes remote would be a little more useful if it could make videos play full screen.
Of course they need to work on notifications because the way they handle it now is annoying.
Also, I'd like to see the weather next to the time.

First choice is a Finder for iOS!!!!! Nothing over the top.. Just a better way to organize and use files between apple and 3rd party apps... It's cumbersome as it is now

I don't understand why wireless syncing is not an easy solution for apple? My first gen :apple:TV syncs with iTunes wirelessly... Why can't my iOS devices??

+1 for the Finder.

Also, wireless sync and OS updates direct to the device would be nice.
