iPhone iOS 5.1.1 restore? iOS 6 upgrade? Nothing works!

Got it. This SHSH is like a signature from Apple that allows your device to upgrade/downgrade, right?

I just saved mine and it's named like this:
iPhone 4S 6.0.1 (10A523)

Is it ok? Can I update my IOS now? Should I update from iTunes or what?

Saving the 6.0.1 shsh file does not give you anything you didn't have already.
It might be useful in the future.
Your situation hasn't changed (except that you know a little bit about SHSH files and what they are used for)
 
I went to the Tinyumbrella and selected "Save SHSH". What could possible have happened?

It doesnt even make sense to save the 6 shsh if Im in the 5 version.. Damn..

I think it's Ironic that you joined the forum then hijacked somebody else's thread trying to get help here to ask a simple question. that has been asked many times and better answered though Google and also answered here many many times and then get offended when somebody says Google it. ;)
 
Restore iPhone 3GS Old Bootrom iOS 6.1 to 5.1.1

I've Jailbroken iOS 6.1. It has baseband 05.16.08 on my iPhone 3GS Old-Bootrom using evasi0n v1.2. I'm new at this and my goal is to restore iOS back down to v5.1.1. I've read that the Old-Bootrom model doesn't require shsh blobs to restore. I have the 5.1.1 firmware file saved on my Mac Desktop. What steps do I take to get this 3GS downgraded to v5.1.1.? Thanks for your help.
 
hey everyone im new to this site and need help fast!

hey everyone I'm new to the site and don't have the slightest idea how to post a question on hereI'm really in a bind with my iPhone 4s been trying to fix the problem for hours and could really use some help I'm pretty damn desperate lol I have a jailbroken iPhone f4s with the firmware5.1 .1I need to restore it to factory without a jailbreak and have it updated to the new OS everything I've tried so far hasn't worked and I'm pretty good with electronics but I would just have absolutely no idea where to go from here I've tried restoring to the IPSW I've even downloaded the SHSH blobs for all the firmware from 5.1 .1 all the way to 6.0 and can't seem to get anywhere I have redsnow I have tiny umbrella I need a sense of direction to solve this problem all because my cousin is an idiot and didn't tell me it was jailbroken when he gave it to me someone help!! Lol I'm pressed for time and going on vacation this weekend I need it fixed before Fridayany and all help is greatly appreciated! :(
 
A couple of suggestions if you want assistance:
Stop using bold type for your entire post. Your issue is no more important than anyone else's question.
Use punctuation so you post can be read and comprehended.

Scroll down the questions to the bottom right where it says new thread.

If you want to go to current, factory firmware, get newest iTunes, make sure your host file points to Apple, plug in your device and punch the restore button.

Sorry about the bold my phone lagged and clicked it by accident and didnt realize lol... and as for the new thread thing I looked at the bottom right and no such luck. Anyways wat did you mean by the host thing to apple through itunes? I downloaded the new itunes and the latest ios and it gave me an error msg and got stuck on restore screen till I fixed it.
 
You don't see "New Thread" ?
