Hey guys I tried cropping some of my contact photos to 256x256 and putting them on the address book on my Mac, it seems to have worked so far. :D

What's the advantage to syncing contacts using icloud over google? I sync all my contacts to google for iPhone, iPad, Mac, etc. That way, even when I use gmail.com I have the same (always up-to-date) contacts. In addition, syncing with google forces the iPhone to use smaller images, as discussed above.

Want large photos

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but I am trying to figure this out for my mother. She want the pictures large on her iPhone4 running 5.1.

Her contacts come from a gmail exchange account.

I added photos to her contacts from photos synced to the phone from Aperture via iTunes. The photos appear small when an incoming call comes in.

What is the easy method to have the photos appear full screen?

I rather like the full-screen photos. If you touch the power button when on a call, all the phone options will disappear and you have a full-screen pix of the person you are calling. Nice feature!

However, not all the pix go full screen. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to this, but so far, old photos are small; new camera roll pix (even those pulled from email) seem to go full-screen.

I have the problem with newer photos too. Can't quite understand why.. Size doesn't seem to matter...

Have you tried to crop your photos to small images? I haven't tried it in a long time but that seemed to work before.
