Can you do that if you're already on 9.1 beta?
You can, you'd just need to put your phone into recovery mode and have it restored through iTunes once iOS 9 is released tomorrow. You would want to have a backup from before 9.1 so you can put it back on the phone, otherwise the 9.1 backup won't go onto a previous iOS version.

Yes and you may can just restore without DFU. Also in the past you could restore a backup from newer versions (not major but minor) by editing the plist file in the backup folder. Change the version line to 9.0 in this case. However no idea if this will still work with iOS 9/9.1. Be worth a try perhaps if you don't have another backup of previous iOS.

BUT the problem is, reader mode is not their in 2/3rds + of web pages, minimum, it's not even available for this site.

Text reflow should be part of every phone no matter what make or model, it is just as important as pinch to zoom.

I think the very first generations of IOS had it (from what I have read in the past), the only reason to leave it out is not enough power to scale the text when needed or something to do with licensing, but for the price we pay it should be there. Your eyes may see good, but mine as my age and lots of people like us would find text reflow just as useful as having a touch screen on a device.

Apple needs to put it in / or back in, once you use it, you will miss it, like having power brakes, power steering, etc... That some/most don't even know what is like without.

Have you tried to change "Settings > General > Accessibility > Larger Text"? or a simple double tap to zoom

Another possible alternative is "Settings > General > Accessibility > Zoom"

Yeah about 20 minutes after I posted it Contacts and Apps came back. Very strange.
Just happened again, this time on my phone. Tapped into a news article, and after a few minutes of reading, I tapped the deep link to 'go back to search' and once again, it's only showing news articles, and spotlight is also not showing apps. If does correct itself after about 5min. On 9.1...am going to submit a bug report.

I have that, but text gets too big on some stuff and other stuff is still small, like no happy medium.....

Now you're just posting like a typical troll, by saying "I did that, it doesn't work", as if I mentioned only one method even though I actually posted three

I apologize to take this thread out of its topic, for those that follow.

1. I only find 2 suggestions form you, where is the third?

2. Don't blame me for something that does not work properly, if anything it's your fault, for not filling a complaint as a beta tester. Why is it your fault, well you did recommend it, but apparently not used it, so for recommending a flawed way makes it your fault.

3. I have 2 iPhone's 6 and 6+, air 2, itouch 2nd gen, and a Mac Pro and Mac book Pro. Do you even know the definition of TROLL!!!! You better look it up...............

4. If you're saying the 1st is reading mode (that was posted by someone else, from what I see), then why does this site not support it (like the many others)?

What we need is a minimum font size adjustment, then maybe with the other adjustments, it will actually work the way it was thought to.

Anyone else getting App updates bug?

The App Store app is showing 16 new app updates for me, but when I open the app and hit the Updates tab, I can't update - the "Update" button is replaced by "Open". I can't tell whether the apps have already been updated or whether they actually need updating. Force closing doesn't seem to solve the issue.

This was a bit tricky for me, force close the App Store app and reopen it and go to Updates tab right away, the "Update All" button will light up for a quick second, if you're fast enough you'll be able to tap it to update all apps.

Or another possible fix: try turning Automatic Updates On until all apps are updated.

Yes same here, It sorted itself out though. Guess there was an App store overload/issue earlier.

Thanks, the 'quickly-hit-the-update-button-before-it-changes' technique worked and seemed to have fixed the rest of them as well. I didn't click on "Update All".

Thanks once again. ;)

My Photos app is not opening at all since updating to iOS 9.1 Public Beta 1. When I try, it starts to open then crashes. Anyone else having this issue? The only way I can get to my photos is opening the Camera app, and clicking on the photo button.

Tried a hard reset and everything. Want to avoid a total restore.

Not sure if this ones an iOS or iTunes issue. When syncing my 6+ to iTunes v12.3.0.44, and selecting Apps under settings, instead of seeing my Apps organized in windows, there's just a rotating circle. I am able to organize the Apps on my iPad 3 and wife's iPhone 5. I've just updated to iOS 9.1 on all three devices, tried a hard reset on the 6+, restarted iTunes, as well as the computer which is running Yosemite, to no avail. Also tried repairing Disc Permissions.

Can anyone duplicate this or is it just me again?:D

Hi,
I've encountered some bugs, actually they were already in iOS 9 (testing on an iphone 5):
  • in Email, when you swipe from left to right to do the custom action (which I have set to "Move"), it doesn't go all the way to the right as does a full right to left swipe (to delete). It's just an animation issue, the action is carried out correctly, but it's still annoying.
  • When I press "Home" to wake up the phone, it sometimes takes 2-3 seconds, and quite a few times it then wakes up to Siri (and I'm quite sure I just did a short press on the home button)
  • Email search seems "unfinished": it doesn't seem to search very well in the already downloaded emails. When I enter a word that I actually see in an email subject, it often takes ages until it finds the corresponding email.
Anybody encountered this as well?

Other than that, the app switcher in 9.1 is much faster than 9.0. I just tried on an iPad 3, and there the 9.1 app switcher is usable, while on 9.0 it is basically unusable!

Siri/Background Audio/Proximity sensor Bug
This bug doesn't allow Siri to work when listening to audio and phone is in your pocket.
Can someone try to duplicate this bug so I can submit it? It is fairly specific. Here is the exact scenario:

-iPhone 6 in pocket (back pocket?).
-Listening to audio (Music, Downcast, etc.) using Earbuds (haven't tested non Apple in-line remote).
-Activate Siri via inline remote. I get the two beeps and give a command but then nothing happens.
-Siri does not respond and eventually just turns off.
-Only happens with cellular data not WiFi even though cell data is very strong.

If I switch back and forth between in pocket and out of pocket it works every time out of pocket but never in pocket. I have a feeling it's an issue with the proximity sensor.

Hi,

Have iPhone 6+
9.1 public beta

All the time i am using bluetooth headsets.

Have two models;
Plantronics M70 & M165

Both headsets have same behavior.

In 9.1 have problems while anwsering the phone call pressing button on headset. ( no need to hold and touch the phone)
Once button have bin pressed phone did anwser but i cant hear caller & caller cant hear me.
Than i need to pick up iPhone and switch sound to iPhone or speaker and than imidiately back to bluetooth headset. With this action i can hear everything and also caller can hear me.
When i am calling out, connection is normally established and everything works fine. No need for switching to iPhone or speaker and back to BT headset.

In my car, bluetooth radio (MB) receives phone calls without any problems.

Have not bin having this problems in 7.x and 8.x., didnt try 9.0 as have go directly from 8.1.4 to 9.1.

Have unpaired & paired both devices, restart iPhone without any help.

Any suggestion what else should i try to do, or do you think to just wait for update?

Thanks

I have the same problem iPhone 6 and 9.1 public beta 1.
I use a voice command to call a number on my bluetooth earpiece (Plantronics). When the call is connected, the earpiece is disconnected and the call is only on the iPhone. I have to take the iPhone and switch the audio back to the earpiece. No such problem with previous versions.

Having an issue with Upgrade To Wifi Calling on an iPad on iOS 9.1 PB. Used to work fine on iOS 9.0. Now, when you try to turn this on under Settings->Facetime->Calls From iPhone, it prompts you on your iPhone for a PIN from the iPad, but the iPad never shows a PIN, so you cannot complete the process. See my thread here on the topic.

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/upgrade-to-wifi-calling-on-ipad-running-9-1pb-working.1918163/

Already logged an issue in the Beta feedback app for iOS 9.1. Will update the front page Wiki.

Battery life is great on 9.1 beta. I'm on a 6plus. I could probably get another hour+ usage but needed to plug it in now for later.

How much actual usage though...

Click the little clock and count up screen time - 10 hours screen on time isn't possible.

I have had bluetooth problems since the first beta 9.0, I have been brushing it off, and fighting with it ever since, not only that I purchased a new plantronics and same thing (though my old one is ~3 years old and I saw other problems form it)

I wonder if plantronics has an update to it? You do know they have firmware updates also for their headsets.
http://www.plantronics.com/us/support/myheadset/updater/

Though I don't think it will help much.

EDIT: wow I had v 44 it is updating to v 107 thats a big update for a brand new product, must be lots on the shelf.

Update on Plantronics web site is possible only on few models...

Does your headset after installing V107 works fine?
