Clean installs are placebo in a way. You do get smooth system when it's empty, but as soon as you install a few apps and get a few apps in the app switcher, stuff goes back to where it's been before. Not worth it most of the time. I have tried it many, many times since 2008 and it never "fixed" any real issue.

Sounds like you haven't ran into an issue that a reset of settings or a restore can help with. Various others have.
 
My old iPhone 5 is now perfect 60FPS. Stutter is completely gone from app switcher, even with transparency enabled. See this 60FPS video (it does play 60fps in YouTube app):
I saw your video and my first reaction was: "ARE YOU FU****** KIDDING ME????" Besides the spotlight lag, that junk from 2012 is smoother than an iphone 6.

Sounds like you haven't ran into an issue that a reset of settings or a restore can help with. Various others have.
Reset settings did help a number of times, yes. But clean restore didn't ever bring any extra speed or smoothness for more than a couple of hours.

Is iPhone 5 the only 32-bit processor phone with 1GB of ram?
 
Battery life is slightly better but not anywhere near 9.02. However I have no lag or stutter. Feels smoother than 9.1

But may find an issue at some point

This just shows how Apple plans to abandon their first and second generation 64-but devices. Apple should introduce 2GB ram from iPhone 5s, and at least 6 series.
Now, ok, everyone knows that iPhone 6s introduces 2GB ram.

Really smooth for an older device. My iPhone 6+ is just as smooth on 9.2 now. It was stuttering all the time on 9.0/9.1.

60fps works in Youtube app yeah. Can you make a video with slowly opening the CC ? And also while slowly scrolling left and right in the share sheet.
 
Animations are definitely smoother on my 6+. App switcher in particular is much improved.
Yes. The app switcher is now real 60fps.

And app switching performance seems improved quite a bit.
 
iPad Air 2:
- app switcher not totally smooth. But better than before
- much less lag when you swype from the right to call splitview with the keyboard on the screen
- spotlight animation still stutters,
- lag when tapping an app on the home screen still present

I don't think this is related to RAM at all. Simply going to and from app switcher doesn't increase memory load at all and yet the stutter was there, every time. Also, it wasn't there with transparency disabled. IMHO it's purely the case of Metal performing worse than OpenGL. iPhone 5S and newer use Metal whereas my old i5 uses OpenGL, so there you go. Ironic really given that the sole purpose of Metal was to increase performance. It will, probably, but not yet.

But when running 3DMark 1.2.0 test, when scenario contains lots of particles and lightnings, frame rate drops rapidly. Maybe because A8 does not have any improvements under the hood.

Demos are highly orchestrated, probably using special limited builds - that's why you usually don't see any glitches, bugs and crashes, even if there are ********s of them in betas.

Yeah I highly doubt this when using iOS 9.

But why in jobs era, there Were examples of software glitches on stage, while in Cook era, they are gone? Apple has acquired skills to create a good public image when introducing software?
 
I think they are just even more highly orchestrated now :) Tim Cook is not the kind of person to spin a presentation failure into capital.

Oh definitely. Event demos are only just that - demonstrations. They have almost no bearing on any real world performance.
