No, it's very much tied to how old it is. And it very much makes sense that mobile devices obsolete quicker than desktop ones these days. It isn't great, but it makes sense. ARM chips in 2011 were good for their time, but not really all that great.
Well yes, I just mean that something being from 2011 doesn't automatically mean hopelessly obsolete.

It does in mobile, that's what I'm saying. Normally, no, but mobile 2011 might as well be 2001. Age is relevant, but also dependent on what you're talking about. And I can only assume others are taking the category into account when referring to age here and not saying everything from 2011 is useless.

You're right, what I meant to say was something being 4 years old doesn't necessarily mean that it's hopelessly obsolete. For iOS though there is a big difference (at this time at least which could change in the future).

To be honest, though, I think we're reaching maturity with mobile though. I don't think we're going to see the huge jumps like we did the last four years. The only thing I see Apple being able to do is move from dual core.

I have to say overall I greatly regret installing this public beta. The first one my cellular would constantly cut out. Then it became my keyboard constantly disappearing along with a quite large general UI. Now it's Safari constantly crashing. I like the new features, but it just hasn't been worth it. I hope to God they finally level things out and get some stability back because I'm feeling like a damn android user right now.

Keyboard shortcuts, err I mean Text Replacements to synchronise properly between devices and not just stop for days on end and randomly pick up long deleted shortcuts for a laugh. OK, to be fair, this has almost never worked properly for me. How hard can it be. Grr.
I don't know what triggered it, but earlier today I noticed the text replacements on my Macbook had suddenly grabbed loads of old ones and duplicates. I cleaned out the list and .... my iPhone and iPad are now perfectly in sync! Fingers crossed it stays like this.
