There was no restriction on the number of photos you could share via Mail in the Photos app with iOS 9.

So why on earth has iOS 10 brought it back again?

Anyone know the answer?

I assume this is not just me, and they have blocked the more than 5 pic attachments for some reason or other?

I tested this just now and I'm not seeing that limitation on my 6 Plus / iOS 10.

I just tested as well and attached 13 pics to an email. 6s+/iOS 10

Take in mind that most email can only send a max of 25mb per message.

It was fine on my 5S before upgrade. Now in camera roll the email icon disappears if I tick over 5 pics. The same as it used to do before iOS9. Thanks for trying it out guys. Confused now. Maybe just this model iPhone?

That works, but then I have to do them all individually one at a time, which is a pain. When in camera roll you could just tick the 6 or 7 in one hit. But not anymore. Makes no sense why they've capped that again. But it would seem only on the 5/S and under?

Really, On a 5S?

I can select as many as I like too, but above 5 the email icon disappears. Strangely, the messages icon remains. But not email. And it was fine with no limits before iOS 10.

That´s funny, because for me its the message icon which disappears, after selecting a bunch of photos.

No don't think so. Why would it be OK for all of the iOS 9 versions and the minute I update to 10 this happens? Definitely related

Just tried it. Selected 20 photos and mailed via default Mail app with Gmail account. On 6s with 10.0.2.

I'd say it's an email provider limitation.

EDIT: also tried on GF's iPhone 5 on 10.0.2. Selected and emailed 13 photos, no problem. OP has either some glitch or hits an email provider limitation.

Thanks for your replies people. I can get Gmail OK but I need to use the actual Apple Mail as shown here when 5 are selected. 6 and above, and that option is gone. Can't be provider. It's been good to go for years and only after iOS 10 has it removed that capability. Used it every day to send clients pics from work email with no problem. Very strange.

Try with WiFi attach more picture. Because I'm able to add even 45 photos.
