Improved volume system. Switching between totally muted and just vibrate is a pain in the ass. If I want my phone to still receive notifications but be completely quiet (switch toggled to 'silent/vibrate' position) I have to navigate all the way to settings>sounds>vibrate on silent to change whatever I need to change.

Bring back do not show messages/texts on lockscreen from unknown contacts.

Why?

Because if you use a two factor authentication password request via text message it will show on your lockscreen giving someone full access to your stuff.

Unless I'm missing something? cause the feature now seems missing

For me I sometimes find it impossible to copy the part of text that I want to. It doesn't happen very often but then I don't use the copy paste a lot on my ipad(air2) because I use it mainly for reading web forums.

I agree with this. Try copy and paste selected text on ios!!! This is one area where android wins hands down.

Also, multiple clipboards so you can copy multiple text without losing the previous copy. Such a simple concept and apple either can't be bothered with it or can't get it right

Improved video player

It is annoying when I watch an embedded video on a website (even like MacRumors) and I can't choose HD.
If it's YouTube I need to open the app in its own app...

If you're worried about this, instead of having them send the code as a text have it sent to your iOS devices specifically. The notification will make you unlock your device before you can see the code

You're not understanding what I wrote.

I know this is not directly related to iOS 9 but could be introduced alongside it. Match googles unlimited photo storage in iCloud. Such a basic thing, but would make so many customers happy.

I want to have multiple users like on OS X, so I can have one user set up with my e-mail, address book, etc, and another user set up with games for my kids that doesn't have access to my e-mail etc.

That will require more CPU than the iPad has. Until the iPad has the resources it needs, just use Guided Access.

I wonder if iOS 9 will have a dark theme a la Eclipse/Nightmode.

apple watch app, watch os, enter password when d/ling apps from iOS a la Bloard, and Yosemite as an option all indicate: maybe.

Some semblance of text editing. Right now it's a pain to edit text written in imessage or and of the default apps. How about putting in some arrow keys on the virtual keyboard so you can move your cursor around and edit without needing to resort to simply re-typing everything out again as you can't simply back up and change or edit some letters.

On the 6 and 6+ models, if you turn the phone sideways, you get arrow keys on the right side of the screen.

iOS devices are more than powerful enough to have multiple user accounts lol And if you're taking CPU performance (which isn't really important in multiple user accounts), the iPad Air 2 act silly outperforms the new retina MacBook.

I realize this is not what you are looking for, but I don't allow any previews on my lock screen. You never know when an unexpected message might pop up on a locked phone

I never thought about what that option would be used for (do not show messages/texts on lockscreen from unknown contacts). Now it makes sense to me...

Bluetooth cameras
Use high-end cameras, and use the iPhone or iPad as a viewfinder and automatically store the photos on the device, so you can edit it there
It would replace the need for any camera connection dongles.

I would love for Sir to be opened up further for developers. I'd really enjoy saying "Hey Siri, start my car for me."

Not sure if I posted this but it's important to me so

Wish list for iOS 9
1. More options for do not disturb -
2. An iOS app for pdf files ! Why do we have preview on the mac and no preview type app on iOS . I understand that we can use third party apps but when every other app has been duplicated on both OS X and iOS why not preview?
3. Outlook and the new app from Readdle (spark) have shown new and interesting ways to improve email . Both allow importing other files from iCloud drive and dropbox and its about time this was built into the native mail app on iOS
4. Improve reliability of third party keyboards, nearly a year later third party keyboards are still unreliable
5. iOS 8.3 and 8.4 (beta) are definitely better in terms of stability but I think the overall reliability of iOS has dropped significantly as new features are introduced
6. Ability to change the toggles appearing on control center- I would like a data on/off , hotspot on and off , and location services on and off. This is becoming more important as the settings app has become a convoluted mess !!
7. System wide dark mode
8. System wide battery saving mode
9. Safari download manager
10. Ability to increase text size in safari . I know safari has reading mode , but this excellent feature is present on the mercury browser app for iOS and greatly enhances the ability to read no mobile formatted websites on a small screen

For me biggest features would be:
-Baltic countries languages support
-Ability to remove apps like Podcasts, gamecenter, tips and etc. Or atleast to hide them.

It is said Apple will release a new version of iOS on this June 8. And there are a few rumors floating around forecasting what iOS 9 has in store.

A Stronger Siri
Brand-new keys
Better Backward Compatibility

and more...?
