I hate non native UIs.

IMO, an app should always be adapted to the native UI of the OS it is intended for. If you're developing for iOS, use the stock iOS UI. If you're developing for Android use Holo. It does not matter that it's the same app.

The new facebook messenger update made me laugh today

On my Galaxy S3, The bubbleheads notification works on any application, and you can reply instantly from anywhere

On iOS, you can only use it within the facebook app, pretty much rendering it a useless feature

It's also a useless feature on every other Android phone save the GS3, GS4, Note II and HTC One/One X.

Quote from OP's linked article: "Android loads apps extremely quickly, but iOS can take some time"

I'll just leave it here :p

That depends too much on the app (because they can be different) and more importantly the device. My N10 loads everything much faster then my 4S. I don't have an iPhone 5 to compare but it would nearly need to be twice as fast. Everything is faster then my iPad 3.
