I wish Apple was more transparent and would share their beta timeline roadmap with the developers. I'm sure they have their reasons to be secretive, but wouldn't it be easier to know when to actually expect every beta?
Because they don't want expectations for something like betas which they want to release when they feel they are ready and not based on some preset expectations.

Doesn't anyone remember the times Apple has released updates as late as 7 PM Pacific? It's rare but seems like everyone is tossing a fit prematurely. Besides, like many of you have said, if it comes out today it comes out today, if it doesn't it will come out later. Bottom line, let it come out when it's ready. ;)

How is that too late in the week? iOS 8.4.1 beta 2 last week was Wednesday. iOS 9 beta 3 was Wednesday. The only day nothing seems to happen is Friday's.

Beta 4 was apparently delayed to Wednesday...especially since Eddy Cue said it would be out early in the week and Wednesday isn't really considered early in the week.

It was iOS 5 beta 5 that was released on a Saturday back in 2011.
Thanks for that... I really had forgotten about that! :) Yeah as much as we may think we have a schedule to follow, at best it's an educated guess. I frankly think their internal targets are soft targets anyway, which is more than likely a good thing when it comes to software dev... might hurt PR a bit but a bad release on time is far worse than a delayed but excellent release.

(Speaking of, they really should have baked iOS 9 Beta 1 a bit more before releasing it to devs, but that's already done so...)

Fridays have seen beta releases as well:

Only one since iOS 5 compared to all of the Monday and Tuesday releases.
Which means they have happened, as opposed to nothing happening on Fridays. Sunday seems to be the only day that nothing has happened on as far as (beta) releases, at least so far.

If we only see iOS 9 Beta 5 next week, the keynote could be September 15th. There is a 5 week interval between last beta and GM since the keynote moved to the September (or October for iOS 5 and iPhone 4s).

Please note that iOS 7 beta 5 was planned to be the last beta before GM.

Yes, just pointing out that it's not as much as of a possibility as Monday/Tuesday are.

Sure, but that's not really what that reply was about.
Well that last Friday build was almost two years ago. But it's definitely the least active "weekday".
Yeah, out of weekdays that's the last active one so far. As far as any day of the week, Sunday certainly seems to be the only free one, closely followed by Saturday (as essentially expected, given that even Saturday releases were/are rather surprising).
