there is non that do mts on the ipad i have to convert them first on my real computer which pretty much makes the ipad useless

dang ipad pro dont work with 2 of my cameras. it just dont like mts video files . back to android for me

Not everything works with everything. But, I mean, it’s up to the manufacturers of those cameras to enable iOS support. Until then, you have to use something else.

He will because Android will give him what he needs.

Why the snark?

A part of me agrees with your comment. I will be the first to say - use what works best for you. If Android has what you need and iOS doesn’t - it’s a no brainer. And anyone snarky about that is just acting silly.

A part of me disagrees a bit. The way a lot of people frame their needs and expectations is very subjective on one hand, but presented in a very objective way which may make the rest (us Apple fans) a bit silly. The OP said “I can’t use what I need....” (perfectly fine) - “which makes the iPad useless.” Erm, no. It’s not useless, it’s just useless for their usage case.

Now, I know, I know - they didn’t mean it’s useless for everyone, but with the tone of the post, I kiiiiinda see where the snark comes. Not really justifying it, but I get it. It’s about how certain messaging is framed on this forum, not what the messaging is. Maybe not the worst post.... but not the worst snark reply either :)

im caught in a mess i love apple hardware and love android os. last hardware i liked on a android was a nvida cpu/gpu

What cameras do you have? Are you certain they don’t have any other format they can record in?

There are ways of using the camera with your iPad but you will have to change to another app.

There are very capable apps in the store.

If you do not want to change then your android device is your answer.

He needs to edit with that format and I don't believe that any app supports that; the best one, Lumafusion, does not. Viewing the video is certainly possible, e.g. with VLC.

but..but..but did steve tell us "it just works" so he lied to us. what he really meant was it just works..well almost as good as android.

i wanna like this thing it is the most i ever spent on a tablet the cpu is what sold me. but it sold me becuase i thought it would be a video edit machine. i also wish it could run a version of super pi(its s prime numbers benchmark, ive ran on every computet i bought or built)

Or you could wait till the OS is released in the fall. By then most apps would've caught up with the iPadOS
It's only in the beta now. A lot of apps are yet to conform with it
