Not always…
Push Notifications ended up shipping nine months after they were scheduled to under Jobs, and Mobile Me was a disaster.
Not to mention to parallel the Photos redesign, under Jobs there was the controversial launches of both “iMovie 2008” and “FinalCut Pro X”.
The former led to Apple having to allow downloads of the previous version of iMovie 2006 because people were so upset.
Also Steve delayed things as well, Mac OS X Leopard ship about a year after originally promised, the white iPhone 4 shipped almost a year after originally promised.
Does anyone remember how long it took for the iPhone to have copy and paste functionality? Things went downhill fast when some fool thought ditching Google Maps as the native map for their own. Don't get me started how useless Siri is.

Take for instance Google or Samsung Pay. Unless disabled, NFC is always on. If you happen to have your phone unlocked and be at the wrong place at the wrong time while using your phone, it can automatically trigger payment.
Stop spreading FUD without doing your homework. Your phone will not pay automatically. It will wake up and prompt for authentication.

While I plan to keep my iPhone, I’ve been experimenting with a Samsung Galaxy S24 FE as part of my assessment of all three major wireless networks in the U.S. The S24 FE is a solid phone and Samsung’s version of Android 15 is pretty nice.

But with Android, your location and other personal information goes everywhere. I will give Google credit in that, contrary to what many here on MR say, Google does not seem to be operating in an underhanded manner. They’re pretty above board in informing you about such matters with every app you use.

But, as with Windows 11, you can spend quite a bit of time turning off the many ways Google and Android can track you. Plus, Samsung’s One UI 7 OS, while pretty elegant, makes things more complicated than they should be. Samsung has its own app to compete with virtually every Android app. Sometimes more choice isn’t good.

There are times when I want to toss Apple into the dustheap. But using Windows and Android every so often clears my head.

Stop being a bully with your gaslighting misinterpretation of content. I'm not going to fall for your trap.

For others, I went to the Samsung store and the tech showed me exactly how it works. He clearly explained to me as long the Android phone is unlocked it will trigger payment without user intervention. Plus I bought an Android phone from Costco and returned it for that very reason, thinking it might have been an issue with Google or Samsung Pay. Bye.

I can confirm that my Samsung will do this when it is unlocked, I quickly stopped using that payment method.
