Now that it's been almost 2 week since the release of 2017 iPad, how's the battery life?

It's a big upgrade from iPad Air 2.. From Air 2's 7,340 mAh to now 8,827 mAh.

How much battery life are you getting? I even heard people getting up to 14 hrs of battery life!!

What's your experience with it?

Battery-Life is great. Actually >10h of use, >70h of standby and 44% left (50% Safari, 20% Spotify)

Never checked the actual usage hours but yes, battery life is amazing.
It easily lasts a whole day full of browsing, gaming, listening to music etc.

I finally got an iPad again last week (the 2017 model) and I am absolutely impressed by it.
I mean I heard that the battery life is good, but I did not expect it to be this good.
The charger was only taken out of the box on the third day after purchase as the iPad lasted through the the whole Easter weekend with heavy use.

I will post some battery usage statistics later when I'm home.

I took advantage of the bonus trade in at Best Buy, and upgraded from iPad Air. Love this new iPad! Super snappy (it's three generations younger than my air) and the battery life is fantastic. And yes, iPad Air cases fit (but the side cuts for the volume buttons don't exactly fit), but should keep it scratch free

At $329, bargain!

I think posting the 2017 iPad "Lasts a whole" day is subjective. The 2017 is rated at 10 hours (Same as Air 2), although the 2017 has a larger 32.4 Watt battery, which some reports are showing stronger results, which is dependent of the usage/settings.

...that's why I said browsing, gaming, listening to music.

Which means what exactly? It doesn't equate to "Having all day battery life" was my point without having numbers. That's what the OP was asking in the first place, was approximation.

Gosh, what's wrong with you? No need to get offended because I didn't provide any scientific data. I was just agreeing that battery life on the new iPad is amazing. That's my experience and that's what the OP asked for...

I'm not offended at all and your being overly defensive. That's great that you're happy with your iPad, However I simply quoted you on based on your broad stroked quote by "All day battery life." You could have elaborated on that, yet, you choose to reply with snark. I asked for what are you achieving for battery results on a daily basis? And you keep deflecting. That's not too much to ask for, is it? As did the OP.

For web browsing and reading I get 3-5 days of use now instead of 1-2 with my Air 2. I just watched a 40 minute show on YouTube and the new iPad is still at 100%. In my opinion it is a big improvement over the Air 2.

It's reminiscent of the iPad 4's outstanding battery life. :)

I haven't really done timed battery life comparison between the 2017 iPad and other models. However, given similar usage at similar settings (in particular brightness), the 2017 iPad doesn't need to be recharged as often as the Air 2 or Pro 9.7.

I reckon the bigger battery plus move to the phone-based A9 chipset instead of the more power hungry A8X or A9X really helped.

Battery is freakin amazing. It's 8800 vs 7305 mah so 20% larger than the other ipads. To give you an idea of how it just sips energy, I currently have 75% battery with 3 hours of screen on time. Apple still says 10 hour battery, but it really should say 12 hours because that's what a 20% increase in battery size would make you expect, and that's what I'm averaging.

As much as I like my Air 2 I must say I miss the incredible battery life that 11000mAh beast known as the iPad 4 gave, one had to really battery that thing to get the battery to drop, lol.

The Air 2 is still good, but it's just nowhere near as good as 4 in battery life.

Relax. We own a 2017, and an Air 2. The 2017 easily lasts 2-3 hrs longer in similar use. Acknowledging the larger battery. The A9 is more efficient than the A8X. It's not difficult to understand the reports. Apple was conservative on it's ratings. They usually are. ;)

I actually own both the Air 2 and 2017 iPad. I haven't seen a substantial difference between the battery lbetween the both of them. But I will say that the 2017 iPad easily matches the Air 2. But I'm not a heavy user or multitasker, so I haven't had a chance to thoroughly test both models extensively. But I'm surprisingly happy with my 2017 iPad, even with the lack of the laminate display.

do you have the cellular model? I returned my wifi model and picked up one with an LTE radio. the battery doesn't last as long as the Wi-Fi only model but that's to be expected

Currently testing.

Right now the iPad 2017 is at 83% battery, 3hrs 2 min usage and 29hrs 40 min standby. First charge.

I normally switch it off overnight but leaving it till I'm ready to charge. Can update later.

I notice it to be about the same as my 3.5 year old iPad Air 1. At the end of the day doing the same tasks the battery percentage is about the same as it was on the Air.

Results are in. Best iPad battery I have had. 5% left.

151 hrs of Standby!! Most I've ever had was I think 70.
I've had iPad 3s and 4s last three weeks or more without charging (granted, minimal/no usage either).

Assuming 17 hours of usage was all onscreen time, that's the most impressive factor. Mind, the iPad 4 on iOS 6 had comparable screen-on time. Used as personal hotspot with the display off, I was able to get around 40 hours usage from the iPad 4.
