I had the iPad 4 on iOS 6 for a short time until I updated it. (I said endlessly that was the decision I regretted the most regarding Apple devices ever.) and yes, the battery was incredible. My 9.7 Pro doesn't get anywhere close to that.I've had iPad 3s and 4s last three weeks or more without charging (granted, minimal/no usage either).
Assuming 17 hours of usage was all onscreen time, that's the most impressive factor. Mind, the iPad 4 on iOS 6 had comparable screen-on time. Used as personal hotspot with the display off, I was able to get around 40 hours usage from the iPad 4.
Was the battery of the iPad 4 even better than the battery of the iPad 2017? On the one hand, the capacity of the iPad 4 battery is much larger, but its components are not such efficient as them of the iPad 2017.As much as I like my Air 2 I must say I miss the incredible battery life that 11000mAh beast known as the iPad 4 gave, one had to really battery that thing to get the battery to drop, lol.
The Air 2 is still good, but it's just nowhere near as good as 4 in battery life.
But was it possible to reach 17 hours screen on time with an iPad 4?I've had iPad 3s and 4s last three weeks or more without charging (granted, minimal/no usage either).

Iirc, yes, assuming low brightness (at least back when it was new and battery was still fresh). I typically use my iPad in low-light settings so mine is usually on minimum brightness (and on Marvin reader app, I even have extra dimming enabled). But was it possible to reach 17 hours screen on time with an iPad 4?
I cannot remember how much Screen On Time I got with my iPad 4, all I know is that I could heavily browse and play games for an incredibly long time before having to plug it in.Was the battery of the iPad 4 even better than the battery of the iPad 2017? Okay, that looks really nice.Iirc, yes, assuming low brightness (at least back when it was new and battery was still fresh). I typically use my iPad in low-light settings so mine is usually on minimum brightness (and on Marvin reader app, I even have extra dimming enabled).
Found a screenshot. I have email, etc. on manual fetch, no background music or anything so this is almost all onscreen time (mostly manga and ebook reading, with minor web surfing on low brightness). It doesn't last as long now but still easily does 12 hours of onscren time. Alas, even on iOS 6, it feels slower than the 9.7 iPP. Websites nowadays have gotten so much more bloated with JavaScript, etc.

Indeed, that was great. But the iPad 2017 can reach these numbers.I cannot remember how much Screen On Time I got with my iPad 4, all I know is that I could heavily browse and play games for an incredibly long time before having to plug it in.
There were times where I think I only charged my iPad 4 twice a week. On iOS6 the Battery was incredibly amazing, best I'd ever seen on any Battery powered gadget.
Now that it's been almost 2 week since the release of 2017 iPad, how's the battery life?
It's a big upgrade from iPad Air 2.. From Air 2's 7,340 mAh to now 8,827 mAh.
How much battery life are you getting? I even heard people getting up to 14 hrs of battery life!!
What's your experience with it?
