You may be right, but still playing here with speed tests and such.
These numbers are running totals by the way....
Day 3 (May 5th) - Sent: 2.2MB Received: 35.9MB
Notes: The results today may be skewed since I ran SpeedtestX HD for another forum member this evening. IIRC that added about 10MB from my last check during my lunch and dinner breaks.
Ended up during my lunch and dinner breaks today at work using 3G access as I planned I would - reading some news sites - US Today (App), NYT Editors Choice (App), and WTOP News (web).
Subtracting the 10MB for the speed test, I used only about 10MB's today for my news reading. If that rate remains constant, then the $15 might end up working out for that type of use.
But will know more after my days off on Sunday and Monday with the iPad as I get out and about it in my running around. Still testing some what the iPad verses the iPhone here, trying to see they both fit with each other.
As any iPhone and iPad owner will tell you the web experience on the iPad is fantastic compared to the iPhone. And Google Maps is so much nicer with the larger screen as well. The balance is what are you willing to carry when running around.
On Sunday I am to join some friends on a photo safari to the National Arboretum; and if I can score a Camera Connector Kit by then the iPad will be in tow. Would be great to download our images and see them on the "big screen".

Otherwise the iPad might be left at home.
