Hey guys for some reason my daughters iPad 7th gen is not working. It keeps going to the apple logo then goes to a black blank screen. I put it in DFU mode and try to restore it but it keeps failing with a 1403 error. Does someone know how to fix this? It would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

That article describes the restore steps. Are you sure that's what you followed because you mentioned putting it into DFU mode, which is different. The link below is for the recovery steps. Are these the steps you followed instead of the restore steps?

Just to add, I can't find anything about that error in the update/restore error code list (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204770), and any other non-Apple sites that mention 1403 are several years old.

Think I'm not going to be much help for you, sorry. Hoping someone else will give you a hand. I'd make sure you're on the latest version of iTunes for Windows and review the steps in this article too, which you probably already have done as well:

I have the same problem, the error indicates a problem with nand memory, only my ipad air 2 with my old broken screen works and is updated, and with the new screen, the same thing happens as you do!

So do you mean the iPad is pretty much garbage now?

Maybe it's time to contact Support to find out what your repair options are and how much it will cost.

Yes went to the Apple store a couple days ago, since it’s out of warranty, they wanted $329cad for a replacement lol

Everything about error 1403 points to file corruption with downloaded image. Try a different computer and/or internet connection. Where are you located? Maybe someone local to you can help out.

unfortunately did not work either :(

Did you move the downloaded ipsw image to the right folder? See if you have this folder.
