It helps someone to put the ipad in an airtight bag and put it in the freezer for a while, and then try to update it, because in the cold the metal sits down, the contacts on the board start working!

Did you move the downloaded ipsw image to the right folder? See if you have this folder.

iPadC:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPad Software Updates
Not working still ?

^^ yes I did exactly that but it keeps timing out and giving me the 1403 error
I would just keep trying. I had a similar issue with my iPad mini 5th gen. Apple logo and then black screen. I tried to restore it on my Mac. I got different error codes. I didn’t manage to get it into DFU. Anyhow I tried two different macs. No dice. I was about to give up and then I restarted one of my macs and I managed to get it to go though the restore process and now it’s working again.
