A10 is quite decent.
I have criticised the iPad 7 for only having the A10, but only because the iPad 6 had the same. At the moment, it’s Mini, 2016 processor, bright spot risk or £769 starting price for a Pro. It almost doesn’t feel that there is a mid range option at the moment, while the 10.2 feels more budget in 2019/20 than the iPad 6 did in 2018.

Glad that the Mini form factor works for me, that’s for sure.
The 10.2" iPad 7 in 2019 is much better than the 9.7" iPad 6 in 2018 was IMO, even though they share the same A10 SoC.

The two HUGE upgrades IMO are:

1) 3 GB RAM. That's a 50% increase, and it shows.
2) Smart Connector with Apple Smart Keyboard support, with a keyboard that has full-sized key spacing.

I recently purchased an iPad 7 for my daughter, and last week got myself a refurb IPP 11” 2018 64 for myself. I have been playing with both, and I have to tell you that the iPad 7 is REALLY impressive for the price. I did the pro for myself because my work sent me the Apple Pencil 2, so I figured that saved me an extra $100. I really do appreciate the 120hz Pro Promotion, but besides that everything is pretty much the same. For me, using Office 365, browsing the web, banking apps, and some games, I really notice very little difference.

What I notice the most between my wife's iPad 7 and my iPad Pro 10.5 is the thickness of the iPad 7 and the lack of wide colour gamut on the iPad 7, as well as the lack of quad speakers on the iPad 7. But for most people, that's not worth spending twice as much on an iPad.

The only caveat is that the iPad 7 only comes with 32 GB storage, which can be limiting for some. OTOH, currently my kids usually only use about 10 GB storage on their 64 GB iPads and my wife uses maybe 10-15 GB on her 128 GB iPad 7 LTE. The only times they use more is when we travel and load up some videos for watching on the road. In retrospect, getting 128 GB for the wife was probably overkill, but I figure one of the kids will get this in a few years, and by that time they'll probably want more than 32 GB.

To the OP.... you really could of googled this for a very easy result

anyway
They did it with the Mini 2 to Mini 3.

I agree. I expected it to use the A11, but the A10 stopped them keeping a chip alive for just the iPod Touch I guess. There wouldn’t have been much between the A10 and A11 cost wise, would there?

there is no point in having the A11 when the A12 is far superior and fixes some problems the A11 had, especially since the A11 can be easily jail broken with that Corellium thing (which Apple fixed in the A12)

the A11 was only revealed in a short space of time compared to past and present chips, after the X reveal, no other future Idevice Has a A11 because... the A12
