As the title says, has anyone with beta 1 installed on an iPad Air 2 had good experiences with it? Lag, slowdown, features, etc.

Thanks.

All new iPad features are available on this model (except Apple Pencil). Runs pretty well but can’t say whether or not to go ahead the try the first Beta. Very little lag but some glitches every now and then.

Cool. With Safari do downloaded files get automatically saved to files, or do you still get to choose a location?

I'm a little bit scared that the Dock is mixed up with the Control Center.

1) Does the Dock only show up when the iPad is in horizontal direction?
2) Is there a way the prevent to show the Dock when doing the the Control Center swipe (restoring the old behavior)?

A fancy version of iOS 10, no issues, same performance on 5s iPhone as well. It's 10.5 of ISO more than anything, but i understand why they went to 11.

Lame "fancy" crap comments aside, I'm impressed by (1) the new Maps apps and underlying data access (POIs, more-accurate data, updated aerial imagery); (2) songs played back in the Music app sound IMO better/more satisfying; I've "played" a couple of albums in my iTM profile over a VZW cellular connection - Tim McGraw's "Set This Circus Down" and Tad's "Inhaler" and they both sound really good, better than I can recall recently (Throat Locust was pretty sweet); (3) the new Music app is fast and responsive - I'm using a cellular connection in a remote location right now and it's a much better "experience" than I could have offered just a couple of days ago.

Still streaming my iTM songs ("Ulcer" by Tad right now - frickin' love that tune) over VZW cellular, the rest of my apps that I'm polling - the new Files app, Wunderground (tapping into my two weather stations), and using a VPN app to log this post - Apple could drop this version iOS 11 tomorrow and not skip a beat.

Zero "lag". Zero "issues". Satisfied with the "files" solution.

Right now, I don’t see an easy way to just save things to the ‘On the iPad’ tab yet. I’m still playing around with everything on the OS.
I would like to ask how to use the Files app? I can’t find a way to share files to the Files app.

THANKS SO MUCH! I was hoping to read this.

I had a weird issue with charging on my iPad Air 2 (iOS 11 beta 1). I tried to charge it with the charger that it came with and with an Apple cable. The iPad said that "this accessory might not be compatible" and it became really slow. I have charged the iPad with that charger + cable combo up to this point without issues. Using the same charger with another Apple cable works just fine, though.

I don't think iPad Air 2 will be able to run 3 apps at once like this either, 4 GB RAM required for that apparently. At least we still have Drag and Drop!

Had the same problem yesterday reported the bug and reverted back to ios 10

Only able to get two apps running together on my iPad Air 2.
How about hovering/floating apps like this?

Thanks all, I have beta 1 running on my Air 2 now and this is very nice. I now use my iPad primarily in landscape with all my apps in the dock and it looks like a mini Mac OS (even nicer with the High Sierra wallpaper).

Am I right in saying that the three icons to the far right beyond the vertical line are the ones the OS predicts I’ll want to use next? Seems odd given that both Facebook and App Store are already in the main body of the dock and thus duplicated. Still very nice, a very useful update.

I don't have iOS 11 on Air 2

but I have it on a mini 4 which is less powerful, and it runs very smooth. No issues thus far other than bugs.

Would any of you be willing to post updates on how IOS11 beta is working on your Air 2's? Really interested in how it continues to function on the Air 2 since I'm thinking of getting a check one for work.

Had the exact same thing happen to my iPad. Also iPad heated up a lot when the slow down happened it then screen went black and no response for 30 seconds or so.... Plugged in using apple cord all good.

I have iOS 11 running on my iPad Air 2 and for some reason multitasking won't work. Regardless of what app i'm in I try to swipe from right to left and the multitasking window won't open. Am I missing something?

doesnt work like that on iOS anymore. You have to swipe the app you want to multitask up from the dock

Loving it on my air 2. One nice touch: I airdrop photos frequently and was always irritated by the fact that once you accepted the photos it automatically opened the Photos app, obviously in full screen and thus taking over whatever you were doing. In iOS 11 earlier today I was using the eBay app to add a listing; got the notification re accepting as usual and the the photos app opened in the floating slide over instead of full screen! A MUCH nicer implementation, I thought. Loving multi tasking, dock, spaces, even the new onscreen keyboard is great although my heart initially sank when I saw the keynote.

Oh good, would be just like Apple to artificially limit those features to the iPad Pro. Think the multi-tasking features and MacOS-style Dock will finally have me updating from 8.4.1.
