How is WiFi?

Whilst using mine yesterday for about an hour the wifi cut out 3 times where I had to toggle the switch on/off to get it live again. I have do that with all my iOS 8 devices and as mentioned earlier my MBP R is always consistently solid on the same network.

Which concludes that the WIFI issues are software related not hardware. I have been advised by an AppleCare senior Tech that apple are fully aware and the issues should be resolved in the next update ( Hopefully!!)

This

3. In Safari some times screen became unresponsive not letting me select a search result in Google.

Happens on My Ipad Air but not on my Iphone. It has been that way since IOS 8... with 8.1 it does the same thing

How's eveyone finding the wifi? Mines really bad and it pretty much cuts of everytime the Air 2 is In sleep mode. Need to toggle the wifi switch on/off to get it going again. I know iOS 8.1 stil has issues but my iPhone 6 plus and wifi don't cut as much as this thing!!

Well, I've used mine for close to 10 hrs (setting it up, downloading a lot of TV shows, streaming a movie). Haven't had one cutout yet. My Air 1 used to cut out at least once a day necessitating either a reboot or even a 'reset all settings'.

So far I'm good. Maybe you should do the old 'restore' and see if it helps.

Having said that I've had every iPad since the first one so I've been through every OS update. And seems like Apple screws up the wifi on every one. I just can't understand why they can't seem to get it right.

Mine has no problems with wifi or the screen (no discolouration, bleeding*, or distortion (smearing though!)), so I would definitely get yours swapped.

*none that I would notice in normal conditions at any rate. Here's mine in the condition you described:

Please keep us all posted! I also have a slightly warmer left 3/4 and very slight cooler tinting on the right. It's most noticeable with solid white or gray colors. I had to go through 6 iPad 3s back in 2012 before I found an acceptable one. I do photography as a hobby and am sensitive to slight tone shifts. It's a blessing and a curse. I'm debating whether I should exchange or live with it as it is subtle unlike the Book Spine issues that plagued the original Airs.

guys, what do you think mine? is it ok?

Ditto it always seems to be in the first couple of quick replies....getting very predictable.

Can't see much from the 1st two photos (ie maybe doesn't reproduce well in a photo?). However, the light bleed looks really bad. I bought the Retina Mini last year. The light bleed on it looked similar to yours. I returned it and the next one was perfect.

Yeah but did he really need to ask the forum? Just exchange it. Sheesh. Ive had a hardware defect before but I just return it and get a good unit.

I-aamir,

Any luck with your replacement iPad? I went to a local Best Buy and it appears the slight yellowish left side might be normal. It's far better than the yellow screens with the original Airs.

I don't think its normal. Mine is pristine and I think others have good ones too. And I'm a person who most certainly does notice these things (unlike my husband who doesn't).

Hi dsc888,

Got my replacement iPad Air 2 yesterday. Definitely a much nicer screen, uniform with some very light yellowing on the left hand side which is normal due to the LCD backlighting. There was no light bleed and blacks were richer.

Only issue was the screen distortion (A few spots across the screen) if you hold it in a certain way with your right hand and literally wave it up and down like a mad man. In reality no one in their right mind would do that so I'm happy to accept this issue due to thinness of the device.

This ones a keeper so overall I'm happy providing apple can sort out the wifi issues in the next iOS update!

Wifi - Issues

All,

I tried the escrge 1843 method(https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6638152?start=0&tstart=0
) last night and it definitely made things a lot more stable but speed was affected. My usual Speedtest app gives me 50 Mbs Down but after setting the networks to 5ghz - A only and 2.4ghz to B/G the maximum I was able to achieve was 25 Down.

Even after sleep and wake for several hours two out of three devices (IPad Air 2 and 5S) remained connected but unfortunately my iPhone 6 Plus which was behaving better on the previous 5ghz setting lost connection this morning and I had to toggle Wi-Fi on/ off.

So in summary this method is the best temporary fix to date (especially for Linksys/Cisco routers) albeit not perfect for all IOS devices in the same household.

I'm definitely going to buy the new ASUS AC68 router which I think will solve the problem as I'm hearing good reports from numerous sources!
