I ended up buying the Air for £549 on Amazon this evening. There was only one left and I’ve been refreshing on and off all day checking for stock. I wanted the Space Grey which just so happened to be the cheapest along with the green on offer. I should get it Tuesday.
Awesome! I should hopefully get mine this week, very limited availability, especially since I’m getting the cellular model. Only option I had was the blue and even that was very limited they said

I nearly go the blue myself as it was only £4 more expensive but then the Space Grey model came back into stock so I nabbed it quickly. To be honest once I put the iPad in a case I won't be able to really see what colour it is. Just glad I've got one finally after all the supply shortages over the last few weeks.

I looked at that one but didn’t like that it had no side protection and would most likely fly out of the case if it dropped since it’s just magnets holding it on.

I ended up ordering a uag metropolis case to bring it to work in and a Moko case for around the house

Biggest thing was trying to find a decent case that didn’t have a built in pencil holder as I have no use for one
It’s a lovely case in black (silver looked cheap) but I am concerned about the sides getting scratched up with no protection. Using it for now but have ordered another esr one with side protection so will test that and return whichever I deem inferior.

Well it’s finally here and I love it! Love the screen and the speakers and that snappiness like my 12 pro max.
just waiting for my UAG case to arrive sometime next week for the full protection but so far so good!

Anyone have issues with the touch Sensitivity when swiping? Not sure if it’s my screen protector or not, it’s an esr one that I use on my phone and works awesome. But sometimes it’s very obvious that it’s not picking it up

I just took it for, still having some issues but a lot better. Might have to stick without. That sucks

This is super late but I had an
iOS air and upgraded to a iPad 7th gen. Needless to say I’m going to upgrade to the new iPad Air. My old iPad was even better than this one but I do like the bigger screen.

I did end up going with the air but had to return the first one do to inconsistent touch screen and this weird white spot whenever I tapped the screen near the area

Wow that’s not good. Seems to be so many issues with apples laminated screens on iPads. I sure hope they don’t use a laminated screen on the iPad 9.
Yea I know, not a fan of that part of it. They said they can ship me a new one by Wednesday so I’ll give it one more shot. After that, I’ll just grab an iPad 8.

Hopefully the screen on the next will be ok. I haven’t had any issues with the one on my Air, so fingers crossed for you.
Yea fingers crossed, definitely my favourite design so far. Had the 6th gen and the kids have air 3’s and love them as well but I’ll take the air 4 over those any day. As long as it can hold up. For now getting the screen replaced on my 6th gen today to hold me over for now.

How are you all finding the battery life on the air 4? Mine is atrocious (see below), really shocked as it is worse than my 5 year old air 2 when I sold it.

I was going to raise this point too. One of the major reasons I upgraded was my 2017 iPad was getting poor but the Air is either just as bad or worse. I’ll post my summary in a bit.

How is that atrocious? Looks like 10% drain per 1 hour of onscreen time to me. That seems like a pretty decent figure considering high brightness.
It was charged to 80% at 15:08 on Saturday and I estimate I used it for about 1hr 10 after that time on that day, 2hr 37 on Sunday which totals 3hrs 47 for 66% (was on 14% when I took the screenshot), so 227 mins for 66% which is circa 343 mins/5.75hrs for a full charge. When I bought my Ipad air 2 new I would get 10-12 hrs at the start. To me, that isn't good for a 3 week old ipad.
However, it is the inconsistency that I don't understand because if you compare that to Wednesday when I used it for 6hrs 40 for what looks like about 60% battery usage - that equates to circa 666 mins/11 hrs for 100% which is so, so different and I was basically using it in the same way (similar apps etc.).

I find my Air 4 battery life to be OK, but not as good as my Air 3 (air 3 has a slightly larger battery). Maybe it could be Ipad OS 14 being the cause as there have been reports of battery drain issues with iphones, but then again the Air 4 was released with Ipad OS 14, so you would think the device is optimised for the ios version its released with.
