Yeah, so I was thinking since I have the new 2021 12.9” iPad Pro for my main source of entertainment and I strictly keep it in my living room at all times that maybe I should consider buying an iPad Air 4 for use around the house? With the Pro, I don’t take it around the house because I am worried about messing it up even though I have AppleCare+.

However, if I had an iPad Air 4 to compliment my Pro, I could worry a lot less about it. I could take it around the house with me as I move and even to bed which would be nice. I simply refuse to do those things with my Pro since it’s like my Holy Grail. Lol. ?

So, should I buy the Air 4? I’m definitely leaning in that direction at the moment.

I’ve been working on my OCD for the past 15 years of my life and have seeked professional help for it. I have been medicated and everything done to help it, but there’s no cure for the OCD I experience. When you wash your hands so many times until your hands dry out and start cracking and bleeding then you might have an understanding of the torment and pain I have went through these past 15 years. I can’t sit down in my recliner and watch a movie without getting up half a dozen times. It’s maddening.

I don’t mean to vent, especially not on here, but OCD has ruined the quality of my life and you seem to think I can just “work through it.” If it was that simple I would have done it, but it’s not. I won’t be buying a second iPad because I really don’t need it in the end. I’m sorry for the inconvenience my thread has caused.
I have OCD too, but I took control of it, more or less. Buy whatever makes you happy and don't listen to naysayers. I bought an iPad Mini twice to compliment my old iPad 12.9 until I settle into the Pro 11' (2021). I sold my 2 iPads mini at loss, but I really don't care, I made a couple of people happy buying them.

Sounds like you've got what we call GAS ("Gear Acquisition Syndrome") and are grasping at straws trying to justify the purchase to strangers (unless your house is some sort of giant parkour course, LOL!). How about not seek justification from strangers and just buy what you want?

While I understand wanting to baby your Apple products, if that mentality is causing you to not use the products to their full extent, then that's a self-defeating mindset (because presumably you bought the iPad Pro for productivity and/or entertainment, not as an art piece).

I think you are looking for an excuse to spend money you don't really need to spend.
