Well, I’m on DB3 now, and the external monitor stuff still exists.View attachment 2643733 Whatever is causing it is definitely only causing the problems on the external monitor because none of them exist on the iPad without external monitor.View attachment 2643722 When I am home I use my iPad 95% of the time with an external monitor. Don’t get me wrong. I love 27, and I’ve have gotten so used to using iPad as my laptop and desktop computer that this external monitor issue is just an annoyance.View attachment 2643736View attachment 2643737

Very thankful that I have no issues with 27 on the iPad without external monitor.🙏🏻 I hope a fix comes soon for this because imo 27 is the best iPad OS yet.View attachment 2643729View attachment 2643742
What issues are you encountering with external monitors on the beta? Is it the disappearing mouse cursor one? Or is that something else I’m thinking about? Hopefully it gets fixed soon. 👍🏻

Yeah, the cursor is one of them. It shows up on the iPad proper but doesn’t show up when connecting to the external monitor. If I disconnect the external keyboard and reconnect, the cursor comes back to the external monitor.

Another is the wallpaper doesn’t show on the external monitor when I boot up. If I disconnect from the external monitor and reconnect, the wallpaper shows.

The File app crashes when trying to open on external monitor but not on iPad proper. Have not found workaround for this yet.

Screen vid captures still blank on the external monitor but fine on the iPad proper.

Trying to delete photos or vids from the Photos app on the external monitor crashes the Photos app every time. Not so on the iPad proper.

Edit: Sometimes opening a new tab to a website also crashes Safari on external monitor, but never on iPad proper.

Can’t use emojis on the external monitor but fine on the iPad proper.

When I try to access History in the sidebar in Safari while on the external monitor, Safari just crashes…..every time. Works fine on the iPad proper.

There are some more and I’ll try to remember to list them here as they happen. Just can’t remember them all now. They all only happen on the external monitor. 27 is perfect with no problems so far on the iPad proper. Really hoping for fixes for my external monitor problems. I use my iPad with an external monitor at home 95%+ of the time, and it’s really annoying to have to move the window from the external monitor to the iPad screen just to avoid the glitches.

Edit: Just to be clear, none of this happened on 26 from the very first betas right up through 26.5 for me. I have reported all this in the Feedback app.

Edit: 27 is working fine on my iPad 9. I reduced motion, use solid icons as opposed to Liquid Glass, and have it set to “full screen apps”. It’s very zippy and haven’t run into any glitches so far.👌🏻🙂

Interesting. I installed beta 3 last night on my M5 iPad Pro 13” and have used it for a while on an external monitor. So far on the external monitor: I have the cursor, see wall paper, can use emojis, can access history in Safari in the sidebar, can delete photos and can use the files app on it with no issues. Haven’t run it long enough to see if they never happen, but so far on my iPad this is very promising.

Oh wow, hopefully those are fixed soon. For me, I haven’t encountered any of those except I think once my cursor disappeared on the external display, and reconnecting the Magic Keyboard Case fixed it. But I also don’t work at my desk most of the time, so I’ve only used it so much. 👍🏻. Hopefully that’s resolved soon. 👍🏻

Yeah, it’s annoying for sure. Like I said, I did not have any of these with any of the 26 betas, actually no problems with 26 at all…and I have not changed my setup in any way. Same hardware, hooked up the same way.
