How do you have magazines? I wouldn't mind subscribing to magazines through like the ibooks program or something...if they're priced the same or cheaper than print, and if you're getting an actual local copy, not a glorified web page.

I only have the one "giant" app but I'm still at 7GB+ of apps. Stuff adds up quickly. Magazine content is getting increasingly large so it's not unusual to have 4 or 5 magazines adding up to 1GB. I don't store videos on my iPad, I just load a few at a time and then refill with new content. Even then I know that 16GB would be too limiting.

The OP can control only so much by keeping his media and docs at a minimum. It's tough to anticipate your app needs over time, so saying 16GB is fine today is possibly short-sighted in that respect.

i was agreeing with you. anything is possible and i wanted to point out all the anomalies out there. it's already been said by others, including myself, that the extra space can never hurt. i have a 64GB and could fill it 200 times over with all the crap i have.

many magazines have their own apps, but Zinio is a reader with a store. i actually like it a lot. they also provide a bunch of free "teaser" articles every month.

A lot of the standalone magazine apps take advantage of the iPad's capabilities and provide a lot of supplemental interactive content, as opposed to the Zinio which just provides the print version in digital format. Trouble is that multimedia takes up a LOT of space, but it does enhance the reading experience.

this is a good point. i've also noticed on a few (and this could apply to all) magazines, that they are scanned in zinio. sometimes you can tell if a picture spreads across two pages and doesn't line up perfectly. it's no big deal to me, but it may bug others.

Price is also a factor (A big one), those multimedia addition comes with a price, most Magazines cost around $3.99, $4.99 per edition, while you can get a Zinio subscription to the same magazine for $10 to $18 (for a full year) you can also read those magazines on other devices, like your computer.

It depends on what you want and how you want to enjoy it, I find myself getting the full app version of Wired and NJT, but stuff like Men's health, cars and Drivers, and other non-Authorized material on the App store is better on Zinio.

Most magazines I read area already that price or less. That's potentially interesting thoug, although it would sure be a heck of a lot easier to buy subscriptions directly from Apple or Amazon or whatever! Didn't know Zinio was a possibility!
