well, there is a hide option, whenever u see a game post, just mouse over the top right corner of that post and click the X to hide all messages from that game.
i guess if there's no flash, there's no farmville! lol oh well, at least i can play mafia wars hahaha.........just don't understand why steve won't allow it, that blue lego box sucks......he says it's battery life, but why don't he just let us decide if we want to use flash??? i got an outlet to plug in!!!

Whatever the issues with the battery flash causes, let's assume it cuts the battery to half. Assuming it actually gets 10 hour, which I doubt, but for example, with flash it gets 5, and it's a "switch" via settings. Just as the endless lines of people that are clueless about maleware and line up to pay some high school kid at Best Buy's Geek Squad $80 bucks to fix it. The calls to Applecare would be off the chart with complaints from people saying their battery is dead, or not up to spec because it only lasts 4 or 5 hours.

IMO the general population is not "computer literate" and no amount of time on the phone explaining that flash causes their battery to run out in the half the time would suffice. It would be a nightmare from the droves of idiots that would be complaining about it. The small percentage of people that even visit sites like Macrumors or other tech forums would eventually tell someone how to get flash on your iPad, that would spread and they would have to deal with it.

Apple pisses off fewer people by leaving it off, than the allowing flash and having to support all the calls to explain whey their iPad's battery is crap.

This of course all based on the assumption it's battery related :)

While I see your point - consider what myself and other people have said in the past. Those that want to peg the average joe consumer as being "dumb" will also try and visit sites they normally go to and the sites, to them will be broken.

So there's faulty logic in the pissing consumers off because of battery life. Who is to say what will piss consumers off - lower battery life or the fact that they can't access the websites they often go to?

Don't you think whoever created Farmville might come out with an Ipod/pad app that interfaces with Facebook?... and charge a small amount of $ for the app. Worked pretty good for Scrabble. I think they'd be pretty dumb if they didn't.

I have a scrabble app but it doesnt seem to have any connection with Facebook so I searched apps but couldnt see one that had any connection with F/B

Can you link me to it?

If it doesn't support Facebook games then I wonder if it has something to do with the App Store. I hope Apple doesn't try to block its users from online interactive content in order to lure them into buying apps from its own store only. Anyway, that's another reason why the decision to use iPhone OS on that device was wrong.

Out of all the Flash based content on the internet, Flash based Facebook games are some of the most bloated, CPU hogging, Crash prone things you could run. Five minutes of Farmville on my MacBook Pro brings it to its knees, maxes out 4GB of memory and crashes Safari. Frankly, I will pass having that "luxury" on my iPad. Consider it a gift, those Facebook games are worthless time wasters anyways.

I happen to enjoy passing the time with the games on Facebook. Im not a gamer on Xbox/PS3 or even the Wii. Its harmless fun that you can do with your Facebook friends, I even found a really nice new friend through playing scrabble on Facebook, so dont knock it.

Oh, I do it too, its extremely addicting, hence saying the inability to play them is a gift. My productivity might go back up. ;)

Thats the thing tho, im in my car for my job & it would be brilliant to be able to do most of the things i do at home on my laptop. I have to admit, i havent read up too much on the ipad & that suprises me coz im a bit of an Apple freak. Anything I have read doesnt impress me. Main points that would make me buy it would be to video conference on skype & have full use of Facebook apps. Although even with a 3g data connection im not sure wether the networks allow video conferencing on skype yet. Im out of the loop on many things lately.
Horror of horrors, i may even consider another tablet which i hear will come out after the ipad is released!! Yes!! i would buy a windows tablet if it did those things. Would make my working life better coz then i wouldnt want/need to rush home to my cafe!!!! No comments please, im well aware how "sad" that makes me!
