I'm a bit curious as to what you think we do here in the States when we buy an iPad at the Apple store. Fly out of the store? Escape through a trap door? Go home without an iPad and wait for the iPad fairy to bring it?
I think the point was more that in Oz at the moment you go into a store and buy and buy an iPad whereas my experience at the moment in the US is that you go into an Apple store, try out an ipad and then go home empty handed as they have none in stock...
